So who's it gonna be, Newsom?

If they're throwing in the towel, it'll be Kamala. (which, at this point, they may do)

If they really think they can still make a Democratic victory plausible, it'll be Michelle.

If it's Kamala, that's the sign that they're forfeiting the Presidency, but they're trying to shore up down ballot.
If it's Michelle, that's the sign that they're going to steal another election.

There's also the question of who wants to run as the D nominee now.

Someone with presidential ambitions doesn't want to run now and lose, possibly badly, and then probably in the process lose their shot to try again. They may rather gamble on Trump and Republicans going back to being unpopular 4 years from now and having a better chance to run and win. Supposedly this is what Newsome is thinking. And it makes sense to me.

If Biden does drop out, then it's going to be Harris.

No one else with any sense or future ambition is going to want to touch it.

(Certainly not Newsom, for example.)

Replace Biden with Kamala and you're looking at a repeat of the 1984 election.

Oh wait, they'll steal a bunch of states and make it look like she put up one hell of a fight.

BREAKING: Per Mark Halperin Biden will announce his withdrawal as soon as Sunday, followed by an OPEN Democrat convention between Kamala and three or more rivals. Biden will NOT endorse his VP and will NOT resign the presidency. This could be the wildest month in American political history.
