I don't think she is in much better shape mentally than Biden is.
that would be my assessment as well

Why is Trump still attacking Biden if he knows he's going to drop out? Shouldn't he be using this time to attack the people who have a pretty good chance at replacing him?
IMHO, if you were to list every possible Democrat candidate in order of their likelihood of being the candidate, Biden is still the top person on the list.
Yeah, and if you believe that, you'll probably believe the other line that Biden won't be dropping out. Her portrayed reluctancy is just one more ploy to gain a couple of poll points.
She is their best candidate, imo...
I just don't see that. Quality as a candidate is a function of the skills that candidate possesses. I have never seen evidence that Michelle possesses those skills. Yes, she can get some mileage from her name, from getting propped up by others who have those skills, and from a large number of pure anti-Trump votes that any Democrat would automatically get. But the candidate who would be most likely to pull off a win has to be one who can give a good speech at the convention, handle themselves in a debate, and win over voters personally with their own charisma, not just that of their spouse, on the campaign.
Another idea. Michelle won’t be the Democratic nominee, she’ll be Bidens new running mate. It solves the Kamala Harris issue by not only making the ticket more popular but Democrats can also avoid being called racist. Harris will drop out of the race in exchange for a spot on SCOTUS.

Democrats had a tough week.
“Biden is fine. Trump will steal your democracy.”
“Biden is sharp as a tack when no one is watching. Trump will steal your democracy.”
“Okay, Biden is slowing down a bit, but Trump will steal your democracy.”
“Fine. Biden is brain dead. But Trump will steal your democracy.”
“We can replace Biden with someone who can beat Trump before he steals your democracy.”
“Okay, there is no practical way to replace Biden, but a brain-dead president is better than Trump stealing your democracy.”
Greg Gutfeld: “If Trump is the biggest threat to democracy, why are Democrats running a corpse against him?”
Democrats…
“To be honest, no smart Democrats thinks trump will steal your democracy. It’s just something we were told to say.”
And finally…
“I wasn’t stupid when I said Biden was sharp as a tack. I was just lying.”
And the frosting on top…
“We’re going to stop talking about climate change so much. Please don’t ask us why.”
And…
“It is racist to prevent non-citizens from voting.”
The only way Biden's staying in the race is if Trump's pulling a lot of strings behind the scenes and successfully trapped him. I don't care what kind of blackmail Trump has. There's no amount of blackmail on the planet that would force the Democrats into that position. One theory that has been floated is that the Dems are going to lose anyway, so might as well blame it on the crazy old guy at the top of the ticket, which is why they want to keep him in the race.
BREAKING
BIDEN TO GIVE MAJOR NEWS CONF TOMORROW
Not seeing that anywhere.
Biden takes on a rare challenge: a solo news conference
President Joe Biden will hold a closely watched news conference on Thursday, marking another high-stakes moment for the president to show off his skill in answering questions in an unscripted setting.
The appearance will come at the conclusion of a critical NATO summit where foreign diplomats will have a front row seat to observe his ability to lead on the global stage.
Biden has held a historically low number of news conferences compared to his most recent predecessors – and has been encouraged by his top allies to lean into more “off-the-cuff,” casual moments in the aftermath of last month’s debate performance.
When he takes the podium Thursday evening, it will be just the 15th time Biden has held a solo news conference, and the first time since November 2023 – an engagement that ran 21 minutes. His average solo news conference has been roughly 37 minutes long.
