Biden is going to be replaced. The only real question now is timing... My guess is that they'll drag this out until after Trump has announced his VP pick.

This George Stephanopoulos interview will drive more unrest. (It'll be hilarious watching the kid gloves ole George uses to edge Biden out while perpetuating the legend. You just know that if it were a GOP candidate, he'd be planning all month on how to trap him)

I hope America is ready for your first First 'Lady' turned President. House of Cards, people. House of Cards.

Really, anybody who's been supporting Biden up until the debate has a huge credibility problem.

This is true. When the media starts being downright outlandish, it loses its effectiveness as a propaganda tool. Maybe they're just not ready to give that up.

Propaganda is the least-violent of tools in the arsenals of governments. Things tend to get really ugly after that fails.

All this media 'panic' could just be an attempt to scrape up some credibility in preparation for covering the next administration.

Over the next week or two, we're going to see the anti-Biden, anti-Harris Dems organize an alternative.

Everybody calm down. Orders are coming down from near the top. Get in line behind Joe. The "or else" is implicit.

Obama shares concerns after shaky debate, offers Biden his advice
The former president told allies that Biden’s already-tough path to reelection grew more challenging after his debate performance on Thursday.

Former president Barack Obama has privately told allies who have reached out to him that President Biden’s already tough path to reelection grew more challenging after his shaky debate performance on Thursday — a harsher assessment of the presidential race than his public comments, according to several people familiar with his remarks.

Obama separately spoke directly with Biden by phone after last Thursday’s debate to offer his support as a sounding board and private counselor for his embattled former vice president, the people said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss private conversations. It is unclear how directly Obama addressed Biden’s performance and his path to reelection on the call.

“President Biden is grateful for President Obama’s unwavering support since the very start of this campaign as both a powerful messenger to voters and a trusted adviser directly to the president,” Lauren Hitt, a spokeswoman for the Biden campaign, said in a statement. A spokesperson for Obama declined to comment.

Obama has long harbored worries about his party defeating Donald Trump in November, repeatedly warning Biden in recent months about how challenging it will be to win reelection. Just before the debate, Obama conveyed to allies his concerns about the state of the race.

As some Democrats call for Biden to drop out of the presidential race amid widespread panic, Obama has not voiced that conclusion. He sees his role as being helpful to Biden based on their history of working together, the people said. On Friday, Obama appeared at a fundraiser in New York for House Democrats, where he expressed continued support for Biden.

“Bad debate nights happen,” Obama wrote on social media after the debate. “Trust me, I know. But this election is still a choice between someone who has fought for ordinary folks his entire life and someone who only cares about himself. Between someone who tells the truth; who knows right from wrong and will give it to the American people straight — and someone who lies through his teeth for his own benefit. Last night didn’t change that, and it’s why so much is at stake in November.”

But for months, Obama has shared with Biden and friends his deep concerns about Trump’s political strengths and the real possibility he is elected again in November. In December, during a private lunch at the White House, Obama discussed the need for Biden to empower his campaign apparatus, suggesting he install a more senior-level decision-maker at the Wilmington headquarters. The next month, Jennifer O’Malley Dillon and Mike Donilon left the White House to serve as campaign chair and chief strategist, respectively.

Last June, Obama outlined Trump’s political strengths during a private lunch with Biden, telling him that Trump benefited from an intensely loyal following, a Trump-friendly conservative media ecosystem and a deeply polarized country. During that lunch, Obama also promised to help Biden with his campaign.

Obama, the Democratic Party’s biggest star, has appeared at two major fundraisers with Biden in recent months. Last month, Biden and Obama headlined a Los Angeles fundraiser with George Clooney and Julia Roberts that raised more than $30 million. In April, Biden, Obama and former president Bill Clinton appeared together at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, raising more than $26 million.

James Carville Issues Blunt Plea To Democratic Donors About Ditching Joe Biden

Longtime Democratic strategist James Carville reportedly urged major Democratic donors to stop stumping up cash for candidates who back Joe Biden’s 2024 run. Pressure continued to mount on the president following his disastrous debate performance against Donald Trump last week.

Carville reportedly told dozens of donors during an hour-long private conference call on Tuesday, a recording was shared with Semafor: “72% of people want something different. Why not give it to them? They’re just asking for a different choice.”

According to reports, Carville added: “What I would say is, if we don’t do something about this, I’m going to put you on call block on my cell phone.”

In another moment, the veteran strategist reportedly discussed how the earliest-ever presidential debate may actually benefit Democrats.

“Maybe we look back on this thing and say, ‘This is the best thing that ever happened to us,’” he said. “If this would have happened to us on Oct. 5, we’d be more than bruised, screwed and tattooed. Maybe this will set it into motion something different.”

Democratic Donors Begin Withholding $$$

Abigail Disney, the granddaughter to Roy O. Disney, who cofounded The Walt Disney Company, told CNBC on Thursday that she plans to withhold donations to the party she has funded for years until Biden drops out.
...
“I intend to stop any contributions to the party unless and until they replace Biden at the top of the ticket. This is realism, not disrespect. Biden is a good man and has served his country admirably, but the stakes are far too high,” Abigail Disney said in a lengthy statement to CNBC. “If Biden does not step down the Democrats will lose. Of that I am absolutely certain. The consequences for the loss will be genuinely dire.”

Gideon Stein, the president of the Moriah Fund, said he’s decided to pause planned donations of $3.5 million, earmarked for nonprofits and political organizations aligned with the presidential race.

“Joe Biden has been a very effective president, but unless he steps aside my family and I are pausing on more than $3 million in planned donations to nonprofits and political organizations aligned with the presidential race, with the exception of some down ballot work,” Stein said. “Virtually every major donor I’ve talked to believes that we need a new candidate in order to defeat Donald Trump.”

Karla Jurvetson, a philanthropist and major Democratic donor, hinted as recently as Tuesday in a private donor call that she agrees with the sentiment on pausing donations until Biden steps down and could end up making such move, according to a person familiar with her remarks.
...
Jurvetson is among the top 50 donors this cycle across the country, donating over $5 million to Democrats, according to OpenSecrets. She’s given over $200,000 to the Biden Victory Fund this cycle, according to FEC records.

Jurvetson gave over $30 million to Democrats in 2020, according to the data.

Nobody's replacing him unless they're forced to, and then it'll be with somebody even worse. The Deep State wants Trump.

They want to have Trump and have everyone think they don't want Trump. That way people will make a bunch of lame excuses for him while he does his masters' bidding instead of making him keep his promises.

I actually hope Biden isn’t replaced. Democrats rallying around a guy like Newsom just to stop Trump doesn’t appeal to me.

Unless they replaced him with RFK Jr, but there’s no way they’d do that.

You're not wrong.

If they had any intention of letting that happen, they'd have let him primary the addled old pedo. He'd already have the delegates by now.

Nobody even pretends to explain why they kicked Kennedy out of the primaries if they want him to have the nomination. But they want to believe that, because they hate the fact that the deep state wants Trump.

Just wait until the "Draft Michelle" movement happens at the Convention...

"Ok, Ok, I didn't want to do this, but I'll do it to save our country from Donald Trump!"

Maybe. Makes no difference at all. As with Biden, the only people who will vote for him/her/it is the most rabid "vote Blue no matter whether human or not" core constituency. It's still just a way to throw the election to Trump.

I know this is the way you've been thinking, but I think it's flawed. Most of these people don't think like that. They crave power above all. They want the ability to control the ring. The ability to put their cronies in place. The ability to enrich themselves at the expense of others. They fight like hell amongst themselves for positioning to do that. They DO know that Trump is no threat to give up that power (which is better for them than RFK), but they don't want him in charge of it. Yikes! They don't know which lucrative scams he may upset.

Now, I'll concede that there may be a few strategic folks at the top that know that a Trump presidency is great for fundraising and ratings and that he'll grow government power for them in the long run. I just know that most of these people don't think about the long run. They have houses to buy and vacations to take and galas to attend and influence to wield now.

It looks like the media is swinging towards kamala harris today.

No matter who they pick the strategy is going to be that electing trump is the end of civilization.

Biden will be in it until the end. Medal of Honor ceremony earlier his week. Meeting with Democratic governors was Wednesday. And, what with the ABC interview tonight, he'll be headed into a big weekend.
