He put justices on the bench that overturned Chevron - the big D donors don't like that. They WRITE those bureaucratic rules; they don't want them open to a court.
Although he ultimately caved, he shed a light on the corrupt Ukraine money-laundering scheme. They DEFINITELY didn't want that! Heck, they impeached him for it!
He favors energy interests over climate interests. Do you realize how much money they have to gain from the panic they've been spreading?!

Like I said, it comes down to self-interested incentives. Most of them don't want to lose control of their power. Now, if he does win, it's not a bad consolation prize for them in the long run. I just don't see them allowing that to happen. They rigged the last election and they'll do it this time, too. But it has to be plausible and Biden is losing plausibility. Michelle, however...

Most of them want more power. And a good cop bad cop game is a good way to get it.

I really don't think that many of them see the figurehead jobs as terribly desirable. The real power prefers not jumping through our hoops every four years, and would rather have some privacy. Old Hilldog has the chutzpah, but the way she has been humiliated hasn't exactly been the thing to encourage others. Trump clearly doesn't have the brains or that kind of money. He's just another actor, a Ron Reagan wannabe.

I must admit that would blindside me. After eight years of giving Trump sixty gazillion dollars worth of free publicity and kicking people out of the Democratic Party to keep them from primarying the senile molester, seeing them completely undo this setup would definitely surprise me.

People act like this cabal is playing tiddlywinks. They're importing criminals, they're butchering children, and people act like this is business as usual.

Has it really never occurred to anyone that they have managed to avoid making asses of themselves to this degree for a couple of centuries, they know how to avoid it, we all knew all along this was the predictable result so they must have known it too, and they did it anyway?
