Meh. That stuff you mentioned has all happened outside the 2 week time frame that I like to base my support of Rand on. Two months or two years ago doesn't matter, it has to be fresh in my memory.

That might be your view and there are certainly plenty of people like you. Don't call yourself a libertarian. You have zero interest in furthering freedom. You aren't a libertarian, you are a nihilist in search of a cult leader.
 
Ron didn't win in 2008 and 2012 not because of college kids, slim jims and internet bots. He didn't know in 2008 because the country didn't even know what the hell was going on around them. He didn't win 2012 because of corrupt elections and Jesse Benton blocking off the campaign from the grassroots of 2008.

I still believe that if Rand Paul ran his campaign and spoke like his father does this time around, we would see so much more support. The negatives we see toward Rand now are his relationship with McConnell and other "insider" crap.

Comparing the campaigns of 2008 and 2016 is unfair and a waste of time. Also, not connected to reality. Ron Paul still kills on college campus. Rand could do the same if he spoke like his father.

yeah I didnt sign up to throw a guy out of office who filibustered domestic drone use and the renewal of the patriot act.. or the guy who introduced a balanced budget for the first time in god knows how long.. or how about the guy who is the bane of the hawks like graham and mccain...

Rand Paul is one of the best senators we have ever had and hes not good enough for you?? what a fucking joke.. if it was up to people like you, we would never get anyone elected and never change any policy.

either admit that all you want is political purity and no policy change or go run for the senate and president yourself.. or shut the fuck up.

People have different priorities and lines they won't cross, mine stands opposed to the mainstream of the GOP so the pandering and even just not highlighting the issues that are important to me but not maybe popular with the Fox News watchers bothers me. People expected Rand to be his father with more effective packaging but clearly he isn't, I think Ron's views would of done fine in 2016, we've seen two ridiculous fringe candidates on a rocket this whole summer in Donald Trump & Bernie Sanders. People want something else, Rand should be trying to stand out from the field not blend into it. If the country isn't ready then they need to be educated further. I don't believe capitulating on our principles to try to get elected.

I don't think Rand has any chance of winning the election right now, I don't see where this sudden surge of momentum is going to come from if the grassroots excitement is dead. Long game my ass, what does that even suppose to mean? Are we talking delegate strategy again? That really isn't happening with out rabid grassroots support and even then its a longshot at best. If Rand loses Iowa and New Hampshire, his campaign is over so no it is not a "long game". Jeb Bush can maybe sit back and not care about who wins in those early states because he'll have all the money, party machinery, and media attention he wants when he wants to make his move and that will probably be after the establishment has had enough with Trump. The "unelectable" Trump wins Iowa and New Hampshire and the establishment will go all in on Jeb as the reasonable pragmatic electable candidate, that's the narrative Jeb wants and the media is setting it up perfectly.

Rand might be the best candidate running but somebody has to be


what is going to happen before Iowa? The deadline for filing for senate in Kentucky is a couple days before the Iowa Caucus.

To those of us being duped, remember: The feds are experts in behavioral science. These articles are all psychological warfare. Apparently they are good at their jobs.

Any articles about Cruz, Graham, Perry, etc polling in the basement? Nope.

When Rand Paul started being deliberately dishonest to prevent a peace deal, he pretty much made me go from Standing with Rand to sitting it out. Is he better than the rest? I guess so.... eh...

The odds of winning are usually pretty small, even for people loved by the media and establishment, such as Huntsman and Fiorina. That is nothing new. We know this going into a campaign.

So what is the point of this continued negativity? Are we all supposed to "wake up" to the fact that not everyone wins?

The NFL pre-season will start before we know it. Perhaps all the teams should just give up now, and leave the season to serious contenders like the Patriots, Broncos, Seahawks and Packers.

This guy is not popular on any team, especially when giving up before the first game (or vote):
