Why do we even need a president? Does he not represent a King?

Government by committee. Not a great idea.

The founders created the greatest form of government the world had ever seen. The point of the President was to run the military, and to put the brakes on Congress when they needed it. The strong executive branch was an FDR creation. That and the 17th amendment messed up the system.

I thought it was the Lincoln creation.

It was not perfect. No piece of paper can control any government. It is the culture of the people that makes the difference.

We're in Lybia, but even if the so called rebels gain control, there is no doubt in my mind that they will create something worse than what they are fighting against.

least important man on earth...but that PEN he gotz iz da maotz.

HAHAHAH AHAH OH, now i get it

Prepare to be disappointed. This country is done. Look at the numbers. We are truly fucked.

What numbers?
I agree we have been screwed over. Most of the population hasn't woken up to that fact.

I expect a rude awakening very soon, and then the numbers of pissed off Americans will grow.
Me,, I was pissed when I joined the discussion here. I have been watching the sleepers awaken for a few years.

Its more like he represents a Queen, you know...the Queen of England. Why else is he surrounding himself with "advisers" that have been Knighted by "Her Majesty" such as, but not limited too, "Sir" Donald Berwick, his Medicaid/Medicare chief.

Article 1, Section 9, Clause 8 should be strengthened so that no person holding any public office or appointment may hold any titles of nobility whatsoever. With or without approval of Congress.

Perhaps a person could act as sort of an executive officer for the week. But all the decisions of that officer has to be ratified at a special biweekly meeting; by a simple majority for pure internal affairs but by a two-thirds majority in the case of external affairs.

It's explained here.

I very much agree with that.

The OPs question is just annoying! Basically asking for a 140 character explanation of how and why the American Republic was formed.

Get over yourself... put down the booze... go do lot's or reading... then come back and ask some intelligent questions. Stop mindless musings on this forum at 7am when you are still drunk.

It is all explained in Article II of the Constitution for the united States of America

If I were president, I would tell every nation in the world, "I don't give a shit about you."

What would that accomplish? I don't know, but at least they know not to ask for money or favors.

Would you be likely to trade with someone who didnt a shit about you?
