Admittedly, I am confused about why Jacob isn't liked. Is it his looks? His positions? The way that he intelligently and effectively debates? Or is it because pro-government statist ways are much, much preferred over actual freedom and true fiscal responsibility?

Yes, and Milwaukee is a heavily blue city in a blue state. It stands to reason they would take no action to further eliminate government schools there. At least
some kids may have been spared from 12 years of indoctrination. Why do you oppose that? Should every soul on the Titanic have died in solidarity with those who could not find a spot on the lifeboats?
Massachusetts still has gun control. 50 years ago, Massachusetts' style gun control was becoming the norm nationwide. Now it is in a distinct minority of about 5 states, total.
We, in NH, have just passed a slew of school choice, vouchers, charter and homeschooling initiatives. We are a few steps away from repealing the "right to education" clause from our constitution.
