Why Do Some Libertarians Support Socialism?

All I hear are excuses/"reasons". Now I know why you don't like Jacob, or me. It's because our way, we'd put an immediate stop to your playing around and giving aid and comfort to the democrats.

Remember what I said: No matter how you slice it, Left / Right = Authoritarian. You can't handle the truth.
You would do absolutely nothing, and allow all the worst excesses of the left to run rampant and continue to get worse.

You use a theoretical world where you actually have unlimited power as an excuse to do nothing and attack anyone who deals with the world as it is and does what is necessary to gain power and start doing some good.

Your gang might be larger in numbers at the moment. My aim [as is Ron Paul's] is to coalesce the disenfranchised who don't subscribe to your authoritarianism, let them know that they are not alone, and in time bulldoze you over.

Your goal is to ensure that nobody opposed to the left ever does anything to oppose the left and keep them divided with endless purity contests and virtue signalling.

Vouchers are not ideal, but they are a step in the right direction.
The government takes the taxes to pay for the education of children, then you can choose between the government deciding how to use it to educate children or parents getting to make the decision.

All review.

Naturally losertarians can't allow any steps in the right direction...

Here's the toxic part.

You say you hate us, but you insist on hanging out with us. Why?

Gotta spew your toxicity somewhere?

A there are and always have been non-libertarians here in spite of your attempt to drive them all off.
B not all libertarians are losertarians or leftarians, in spite of your attempts to purity test and gaslight all of them into being such.

Yes, there have. But I never tried to drive them all off. It just feels that way to you because I try to drive the toxic ones off, Democrat and Republican alike, from the days when the site was overrun by Obama Astroturfers.

You don't see me talking to 69360 the way I talk to you. You also don't see 69360 popping up every morning and lobbing insults, calling people names and throwing tantrums like a toddler. You only see all that when you look in a mirror.

I don't support vouchers, but damn, Hornberger is insufferable.

How about you worry about yourself, Jacob, instead of what conclusions other libertarians may draw? You know... like a real libertarian??? (SWIDT?)

Honestly.

Refresh my memory, wasn't he the clown that gave that cringe worthy talk on abortion and "evictionism" at the Rally for the Republic back in '08?

I'm all in favor of vouchers, with the understanding that they are a step towards abolishing all government schooling.

This monstrosity was not built overnight and, short of utter collapse, is not going away overnight.

Gun rights are one of the few success stories "we" have had, and it took 50 years of endless work, of two steps forward and one back, to get from where we were to where we are now.

It took me just as long to step back, look at things realistically, instead of heated passion and realize nobody is going to follow secession or revolution, so this is the only way.

Honestly.

Admittedly, I am confused about why Jacob isn't liked. Is it his looks? His positions? The way that he intelligently and effectively debates? Or is it because pro-government statist ways are much, much preferred over actual freedom and true fiscal responsibility?

From the OP article:
"Moreover, there is reality to contend with. The city of Milwaukee has had a school-voucher program for more than 35 years. It has never led to the separation of school and state in Wisconsin or even just Milwaukee. On the contrary, the city still has an extremely robust public-school system."

Of course not. Jacob is nut who opposes the state, after all

I oppose current ( all) property tax and ( 1/2) state tax collected funding of public skools in Indiana , but it isnt going anywere as publik skool is in state constitution. If it is not going away anyone wanting coice deserves it. Also , anyone listening to ornburger needs counseling.

An air of condescending superiority, combined with a tendency of standing behind the line, sneering, mocking and heckling those who are actually in the fight and doing the dirty work.

ETA - Belay that, I may have Hornberger and Block mixed up. Let me mull that over.

Yes, and Milwaukee is a heavily blue city in a blue state. It stands to reason they would take no action to further eliminate government schools there. At least some kids may have been spared from 12 years of indoctrination. Why do you oppose that? Should every soul on the Titanic have died in solidarity with those who could not find a spot on the lifeboats?

Massachusetts still has gun control. 50 years ago, Massachusetts' style gun control was becoming the norm nationwide. Now it is in a distinct minority of about 5 states, total.

We, in NH, have just passed a slew of school choice, vouchers, charter and homeschooling initiatives. We are a few steps away from repealing the "right to education" clause from our constitution.

How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.

He's ready to pick up a rifle?

Against who? Human pawns? Or the representatives/presidents you vote into office?

As long as violence is part of the equation, you and others get all excited and are on board it. Typical of the MIC trait, which those of us are trying to eliminate.

Incrementalism seldom works. That's why that hot looking Queen always got right to the point and said "Off with their heads!!!"

In this creation, there is a time and place for all things.

Including war.

Maybe because he, like you often, would rather turn his fire at fellow libertarians for not being as pure as his own personal definition than actually working towards viable solutions?

Yet you and 'Merika ignored the Record and went ahead and voted for Alpha Trump, because he was.... Alpha.

You're not one of those touchy-feely guys from Butler PA, are you? Because around my parts, we dig bikes, wings and hot chicks for a living ;-)

"Viable solution". All I hear is "kumbaya".
