Explaining Why Christians Should Vote for Ron Paul
by Kristi Dunn on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 8:33pm
I know many of you have made up your minds to vote for one candidate or another, and this is a passionate issue, so please do not take offense that I tagged you. However, I wanted to explain a few points for why I as a Christian studied and support Ron Paul. Most of you know that I am a free thinker, well informed and politically savvy. I wanted to take a moment and explain my view. If you have questions or would rather this not be tagged for all to see, please by all means, untag yourself. I just did not want to let the Florida Primary pass without sharing this. I know I tagged several of you who are not Christians, by your own admission. I tagged you anyway, because I believe that because of your influence on others you might be asked this as well...![]()

Why to Vote for Ron Paul, this is my answer to Christians:
My number one reason to vote for Ron Paul is that I can trust him. I have worked and voted for many candidates... but I would say that many are not trust-worthy and I truly believe that cycle MUST end.
The Bible describes what we should expect from a Christian leader. (According to these scriptures: 1 Timothy 3:1-13, 2 Timothy 2:1-13, Titus 1:5-9, Acts 6:1-6, and Exodus 18:21-22), here is the mark of a leader:
Mark #1: An Example for Others
Mark #2: Full of Wisdom
Mark #3 Unwavering Conviction
Mark #4: Moral Excellence
Mark #5: The Heart of a Servant
Mark #6: Good Reputation
Mark #7: Self-Control
Mark #8: The Pursuit of Excellence
Mark #9: Endurance or Perseverance and Patience
Mark #10: Courageous
Mark #11: Faithfulness
Mark #12: Humbleness
Mark #13: Accountability
Mark #14: The Wisdom to Deal With Failure
Although humans are obviously not perfect, Biblically we are still called to be discerning. You can clearly discern how a person believes, by their fruit, according to Mathew 7:16. At some point, their life should CONSISTENTLY embodied the things listed above. You should be able to clearly see what their Faith is, because it is lived out in their DAILY lives, consistently.
This means that it is not about forgiveness nor is it about judging. Rather, it is about both discernment and trust. We all know that trust is not based on words or eloquence or debate skills or presentation, but, on actual action. Of course in politics, “action” means voting records and public statements are the gauge for where these men truly stand, not what they say in the “hot seat” on the debate stage.
Many of the candidates, have many, many things to answer for, in the last year or two. That is too recent and I have a problem believing that there is real change there. In fact, I do not know that they would have ever changed their views, were they not NOW on a national stage.
I trust what your actions are, your voting record, tells me a lot more than your words... Many of the people in the race do a good job of sounding good, but I do not see fruit, not of consistent conservatism, and certainly not of Biblical Leadership.
Now, you may not agree with Dr. Paul, but his character is not in question, not in any true way. He does not attempt to explain away his past or his record. Nor does he try to convince you that he is a man of Faith, morality or conviction, he JUST IS.
Now again, of course no one is perfect, but going year by year, his life and his message is the most consistent. I do not think anyone can objectively argue with that.
Therefore, in my opinion Ron Paul has the most trust worthy record and life. Because I believed that, I dug a little deeper.
So here are my other reasons to Vote for Ron Paul:
1.) Ron Paul is a Christian and while he does not attempt to build his platform on a Faith basis, he takes his oath of marriage, office and the Constitution seriously. He has been married for 54 years, returns portion of congressional budget that he does not spend; He is a Man of Faith – accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior.

2.) He’s NEVER voted for a tax increase. He’s NEVER voted for an unbalance budget, he’s NEVER voted for gun control, and has NEVER voted to increase the debt ceiling. He was against TARP/ALL Stimulus & Bailouts, NDAA, Patriot ACT, Medicare Part D and No Child Left Behind.
3.) As I covered earlier, I wanted to say again, that besides his voting record, I also admire Ron Paul for the fact that he lives by his faith and principles.

I hope that is helpful.![]()
I got permission directly from my friend to post this on RPF, I think its classy and good to share around with other voters who are on the fence or don't know what to think about Ron Paul as a christian.
