Why are we getting off track?

We're here to try to get Ron Paul elected to President. Why are we throwing around ideas of trying to get Kuchinich and Barr elected on the independent level?

I'm sure these guys have noble causes and would make fine presidents, but we need to stay focused on Ron Paul. If Ron Paul doesn't get on the ticket we always have the choice to write him in.

Wasn't there an event in history where a second candidate was introduced for a main party, and split the vote allowing the opposing party to win the election? That's what's happening now.

We've already got Obama, McCain, Hillary and Ron Paul supporters, plus all the minuscule candidates out there. Why should we further divide the vote by endorsing more candidates, (often endorsing them in place of Ron Paul) thus possibly taking away the chances from Ron Paul?

Many states either have laws that would require Ron Paul to officially file as a write-in candidate, or altogether do not allow writing in candidates who are not on the ballot. In this case, I'd much rather vote for the next best thing - especially when someone like Barr or Baldwin is very close in ideology.

I do think it's a problem that the Paul base is going to be fracturing its vote to 2-3 other candidates, but until RP himself actually endorses another candidate, that's the way it will be.

I didn't know that. Good point. Kind of a bummer though.

Yeah, but it's more about the continuation of his ideas and philosophies, and trying to get local and state officials with similar beliefs elected. Just think, there is only one Ron Paul now....but if we elected 2-3 candidates to Congress now with his beliefs, we'll have not only a strong candidate for President in 4 years, but a few Congressmen who can officially endorse him (something Dr. Paul didn't have).

Exactly, do what you can to educate everyone around you. Read the manifesto, give out copies, sell copies and just get people educated for the next election cycle.

Maybe because Ron Paul does not want you to spend your time and energy to get him president anymore?

Because...you see...Ron Paul is not a fool. (Sorry, but apparently you are.) He knows that the chances of him being preisdent have officially fallen to ZERO. Not 0.0000001%. Zero.

The sad thing is, if you think that the only way that Ron Paul can claim a victory is by moving into the White House in 7 months, then you never really understood the whole point of Ron Paul in the first place.

Ratskeller is a McCain shill. Please review his past posts. Especially the ones in reply to McCain.

I agree we should still be supporting Paul all the way until the convention. After September 4th, we will still have 2 months to debate who to vote for in November.
