Why are they so afraid of Ron Paul?

What funny to me is the Sean Hannity forums. So many posters over there are crying about how all the canidates suck and that the republican party is in terrible shape. When someone brings up RP's name many of the posters jump in and mock him. Or, they may say something like, "i like RP but i strongly dissagree with his foriegn policies." I just don't get it. Fox news has people some damned brainwashed that they now think our foreign policy of pre-emptive war is great.

I think the main fear of RP is that he wants to go back to a gold standard. That's a serious threat to rich people. The main thing about our current system is it ensures that people will have to keep working to house and feed themselves. If instead they accumulated real wealth and gold-backed assets, they could eventually slow down and not keep themselves to the grindstone. As long as the central bank can keep devaluating one's income and savings, then 99% of Americans will never get out fully from under the thumb. Meanwhile, the rich can turn that currency into wealth and real assets by buying up property, commodities, etc.

why

I have been a RP supporter since 1979 - trust me the amount of coverage he gets now is simply huge compared to the last 30 years.

RP grassroots - don't whine, don't complain - the news blackout is because RP represents a revolution. It is a good sign that RP is blacked out; it means he represents real change.

Does anyone really think the establishment is going to allow RP to take all their perks, their consulting gigs, their junkets, their tax breaks away from them without a (peaceful) fight ? Stop kidding yourself - the Establishment will do everything possible to stop RP.

Look at LA yesterday - the entire establishment united to prevent RP from sweeping the state.

What stage do you think we are at ?

First they ignore you

Then they laugh at you

Then they fight you

They you win

They are afraid of encountering the same result they encountered when they were the whigs.

The real reason RP is ignored by well...everybody

I am going to say this, even though you all may think i'm a REAL conspiracy theorist with a tinfoil hat, but here goes.

Jesus.

Seriously. There is a major problem in America, and it all boils down to christian extremist attitudes, mostly in the protestant arena but more often in the catholic sector as well.

There is an obsession in America, an obsession with jesus, with the end times, with protecting israel. People honestly think jesus is coming back in their lifetimes.

How does this relate to Ron Paul? Well he's antiwar....thats it. Modern Christians feel there is a war going on, a war they MUST win. its the war against non-christians, be they atheists, muslims, whoever. That is why even though Ron gets the highest marks from christian conservatives on tax policies, government spending, right to life, and religious freedom, what is tripping his candidacy up is his fervent anti-war status.

No modern christian would ever consider a man who wants to make peace with the unbelievers!

It all sounds crazy, and you may all think I'm crazy for saying it, but there you go.
