Iowa and New Hampshire expect to be contacted, volunteer contacts in other states will depend on whether the state will be contested and to what degree and what kind of organizational investments have been made. All states will need volunteers to get Rand's name on the ballot at the very least although this usually doesn't regular an overwhelming effort, in 08' and 12' this was done in an ad hoc way. In 08' and 12' I'd imagine most volunteers were not directly contacted beyond emails asking for donations and requesting participation in the phone-from-home programs.

That said, it will be interesting to see what this specific team will do differently than previous Ron Paul campaigns. It's possible they may be more engaging and ask more from, or provide other ways, their official volunteers can be involved, only time will tell.

They will probably ask you to participate in phone from home early state polling/voter data collection as well as participate in Iowa/NH/SC/NV phone bank stuff.

I just want to take a second to say how important the phone from home is. From identifying supporters, voters, to delegates and all, it is what everyone can do from their own state that is highly effective and helps the campaign crunch data.

Here's what I know from being involved in both 2008 and 2012 - Do not expect someone to call you.

This is directed at the general forum, no one in particular.

Take OWNERSHIP of your little borough of the USA. Your neighborhood, your city/town, your county, region - SOMETHING. We are far past the time of waiting for someone else to step up and lead your butt. Damnit - get off the couch and do SOMETHING!

Get involved in your local GOP. Ask about fundraisers, dinners, parades, etc. Find SOMEONE local that you like and you trust and just BE NICE! I promise you that you do not need to debate people. You do not need to convert people the first day you meet them. Build relationships. Let them get to know the real you FIRST. Be friendly. The rest falls into place....if you.are.not.an.asshole!!!
