Who is your favorite liberty candidate for US Congress in 2012?

I had added most of the candidates but not all to the Liberty Candidates United site.

I will keep working on it and I appreciate any help and feedback for making it better.

Please help spread the site and LIKE it on Facebook.

Hopefully it will help us get more great people elected.

I have gone through the platform of all the candidates and given a score out of ten based on how true the candidate is to a "Ron Paul Republican". The higher the mark, the closer the candidate's policy proposals to Ron Paul's.

Crotale: I live in MO-8 and Bob Parker is on your list. We desperately need to oust the entrenched RINO Jo Ann Emerson and he's the only good alternative I see. Can you tell me the precise reasoning behind your 7/10 score for him? I'd appreciate it and will try to talk with him and see if I can't turn him around to become a 10/10.

A couple of lists had Bob Sauerwein WA -6th. He has withdrawn from the race and endorsed Doug Cloud.

IMO, Doug Cloud will win the GOP endorsement and defeat any Democrat running against him. He got 40%+ in the last election, and has name recognition. He also brought down the incumbent the powerful Congressman Norm Dicks by exposing massive corruption.

Doug is youngish and is quite able. Here is an example of his thoughts:

"COMMENT OF NATIONAL DEFENSE RESOURCES PREPAREDNESS ORDER:

President Obama on March 16, 2012 signed a new executive order, the National Defense Resources Preparedness Order. Supposedly, the new Order is to allow the executive branch of the Federal Government i.e. the President to take total control of every aspect of the economy in the event of a wide variety of "National Emergencies". In the event the new NDRPO order is triggered by a "National Emergency", the NDPRO essentially grants full control of every aspect of the economy to the President. This is frightening to anyone who believes in the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Not only is the NDRPO frightening, it is guaranteed to make any economic catastrophe associated with a "national emergency", far worse. The NDRPO completely removes the free market from its' essential role of allocating scarce resources efficiently and in a way that maximizes economic production. Why in a time of true "National Emergency" would the President destroy this miracle of economic achievement by totally disabling it?

Why in such an emergency would the President return the country to the backwardness, corruption and impoverishing policies of the defunct Soviet Union?

The answer of course is either the President does not even have a basic understanding of how economic productivity is achieved or he wants to completely centralize all Power in Our Country in the Executive Branch.

Neither Explanation is Comforting to Freedom Loving People.

Pleas consider adding Doug to your lists. http://dougcloud.com/home.html

BTW, John Dennis is a fantastic candidate. I wish he would run somewhere besides San Francisco. He gives Pelosi fits. but in SF, only a Democrat can win.

I wish someone like Dennis had been running the RP campaign.

Please see the official list thread. I noted your update on Bob Sauerwein. We probably need to find out more about Doug Cloud. See this post:

BTW, John Dennis is a fantastic candidate. I wish he would run somewhere besides San Francisco. He gives Pelosi fits. but in SF, only a Democrat can win.

There are some Districts in California where the GOP doesn't even run a candidate. SF should probably be one of them. The only way to win in SF is to run a liberty oriented Democrat in the Primary.

How's her race going? Does she have a chance?

This question comes up a lot, so I've added Kalebthefinn's analysis from another thread to my signature. I'll highlight the most important parts here:

.....It's completely a GOTV boots on the ground game.......

......It is also possible IF the larger RP movement would rally around her.

A handful of jobless/mobile/hardworking activists could push it over. We could also utilize any hands from the larger RP movement willing to work from a distance (phone-from-home etc)

Anyone who wants more info message me and I'm willing to talk on the phone.

I haven't seen any polls yet, but whatever her chances are, they improve with every door we knock on and every phone call we make. If you live anywhere near the 6th district of Virginia and can drive in for a day to help canvass, let Kaleb know. He's coordinating the volunteer effort for the entire district. If you are in Virginia's 6th, 9th or 5th near the Roanoke/Botetourt areas, please get in contact with me.

I'm pretty skeptical of primary challenges of incumbents, but Bob Goodlatte is helping us out with SOPA, funding Obamacare, and other non-conservative votes. If I wasn't convinced that this is winnable, I wouldn't be scheduling all of my weekends between now and June 12 to make this happen. If we get the manpower we can win.

There's a liberty oriented democrat running in New York, Dan O'Connor

BTW in Parker's run against Emerson (MO-8) last time around he raised >$40K and she spent close to $1m, yet he got 35% of the votes. With a little more support this time, he can build up his base and have a real shot at winning. It's not like Emerson has straightened up and flown right in the meantime, and more people have become disgusted with her but Bob can't get the word out as effectively as she can with too small of a campaign war chest.

We have two GOP candidates listed in that race. So the question is should we drop Rohrer? Or does his lower "purity" rating make the Primary choice clear enough? We may be lucky to have more than one acceptable candidate in a race.

It seems we already have a thread on this subject. My take is that we can support either of them in the General, and we have a good chance of winning this. Who people vote for in the Primary is a personal choice, with some pros and cons listed in the following thread:

http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?365675-Discussion-Marc-Scaringi-or-Sam-Rohrer

Richard Mack, easily.

His effort with Oath Keepers and the Constitutional Sheriffs is a great service to the country.

He has the integrity of Ron Paul and he would become the best member in all of Congress should he win, but it will be tough.
