Who gave Sabrin my email?

What is the email address that is sending them?

I don't get any, and I've signed up for all moneybombs, donated to Paul, and donated to Murray.

I'm more concerned about how organizations like the "Nationalist Times" and "National Alliance" got my snail mail address.

Did you go to the Pittsburgh Rally in August?

I think that is what somehow got me on the Nationalist Times snail-mail list.

not HQ

The campaign did not give supporter contact information to Murray Sabrin or any other candidate or organization.....and there is no data mining problem.

Thanks debbie. I didnt think they would, I just dont understand how he did get all of our emails.

I support the guy, but I didn't sign up for his e-mail-bombing.
Press release this, DiLorenzo that... 20 emails a day.. wtf?

I consider it unapproved soliciting and an invasion of my personal space.
I hope the RP campaign isn't giving my email to all of his buddies.

Unsubscribed

Okay, I was kind of wondering this myself.... Im glad Im not losing my mind.

The campaign doesn't have to give this information out when it's easily accessible through the precinct captain database.

Information can be retrieved easily. Our information should be kept private. We already have meetup groups. When I first signed up, I did not know my information would be displayed.

I haven't signed up to anything else under the current email used other than precinct captain program and this is how I know this is where they are getting their information.

I think those two statements are mutually exclusive, unless this forum is the source (which is entirely possible).

I don't see how considering there are people on this forum who aren't getting the emails.

I'm not getting any e-mails. I've signed up with the official campaign, but that's it.

I had to unsubscribe. I don't know who is doing it but it might be one of the money bomb sites.

Holly,

I'm a precinct leader as well and I'm not getting Murray's emails.

By virtue of the nature and purpose of the precinct leader program, it's important that PL leaders in a community are able to communicate and cooperate with each other, therefore, your phone and email is visible to other PL's in YOUR county.

That being the case, we've tried to make it as secure as we can, while still meeting the purpose for which it was established. No one can get into the PL area of the site without first registering, with full contact info, confirmed by email.

Once registered, they have access to voter data from their precinct and to contact info for every PL in their county. In order for someone to harvest contact info for all our PL's, they would have to create tens of thousands of new accounts, each with a differenct email address and originating from thousands of differnt ip's...and we have measure in place to prevent anyone from doing that.

Debbie

Not calling you a liar but this article seems to say otherwise:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/cq/20080227/pl_cq_politics/politics2677795_2

Ron Paul Sharing Political Wealth With Like-Minded Candidates said:
Sabrin, a New Jersey Senate candidate who has been endorsed by Paul, is expecting a "moneybomb" from his own backers and Paul's this Friday. Sabrin has raised $194,260 since launching his campaign last month, according to a calculator on his Web site.

"We're working hard to cultivate his previous donors and Murray's previous donors and donors across the country," said Sabrin consultant Adam Alonso.

Republican Rep. Walter B. Jones, a fellow Iraq war critic who faces a tough primary challenge in North Carolina coastal 3rd District, has rented access to Paul's list of donors in the state.

FWIW I havent received any emails except from the RP2008 PCC so who knows.

Debbie

That's odd because I just signed up again and my IP address is the same.

Now it could have also been harvested from this forum too, that is a possibility.

I guess instead of all this guessing we can ask them where they got our email addresses from.

But the only places I've signed up with my email that would identify me as a RP supporter are this forum and the official campaign (donations and precinct captain).

I take it to be true what Debbie Hopper says above re: the campaign not officially giving out info (edit: although I suppose in the article referenced above the campaign says they so - which, again, I have no problem with on the face of it. Also, the article quotes a Sabrin consultant saying that they are working to "cultivate" RP's previous donors, likely via the precinct captain data).

I have received, from personal email accounts, mass emails from other precinct coordinators, which lends me to believe that the "coordinators" have the addresses of all of the "captains" below them. When I log in, I have the emails of the other captains in my county. A decent amount, considering it's LA county.

So, it seems to make the most sense that precinct captains/coordinators have helped the Sabrin campaign get into contact with us, especially given some of the "enthusiastic" use some of the RP coordinators of the emails available to them (I just replied and nicely asked them to take me off their list, and they were happy to, after digesting that somebody didn't want to get email from them every day).

While I'm all about contact with other fellow believers, and know that especially in politics, being connected to a base of voters is extremely important (Bush's two elections are largely given credit to the voter databases of evangelicals they were able to accumulate), the repetitive nature of this spam is what annoys me more than the occasional RP supporter sending out an email to the precinct captains, or the erstwhile letter from an aspiring senator.

I am starting to equate the name Murray Sabrin with irritation and annoying spam, rather than with freedom and Ron Paul senators.
