A friend of mine believes all elected officials deserve respect. I'm trying to think of examples of horrible elected officials (outside of the U.S.) to prove her wrong. Right now I got Ahmadinejad and that's about it (and the people who brought Hitler to power). I'm drawing blanks and need some help and figured this was definitely the place to go.

Actually all the worlds worst dictators were elected in some fashion. Pol Pot, Mao, Stalin, Hitler the four people who have killed the most were all elected to their position. Stalin, Pol Pot, and Mao by their government in a parliamentary manner. Hitler was appointed by an elected official, but not to a position he was "elected" to.
