Mitt Romney Who are Romney's hardcore fans anyway?

I want to see a CEO as president, but I don't want Romney. If Romney wants to run this country like he ran Bain, I'd support him. If he was willing to run this country like a business, how could you not support that.

Let me preface this by saying that I work for the fed gov and have for almost 30 years. Being good at business does not translate into being good at government. Government is not a business and doesn't run like one. It's as system of gross inefficiency that stifles initiative and innovation. Business complains about over regulation. It's 10-100 times worse on the inside. Simple acquisitions $3-$100k are a major pain in the ass. Construction is even worse. The biggest problem? so much focus on the accountability of tax payer dollars and compliance with too many laws that it costs 3-10 times as much in manpower and funding to accomplish the same things businesses do at 1/3 of the cost. Paul is absolutely right - get government out of the things it doesn't need to be involved in.

Romney touts that he knows how to create jobs. He has no more idea than Obama does. Government doesn't create jobs and this is why in his term a governor, his state ranked 47th in the nation in job creation. His success in business did not translate into success in government. He only wants power, prestige and more money. He doesn't give a rat's ass about you, me or any of us common folk. He'll say anything and take any position to get elected. He has no core. No spine. No backbone. He is not genuine. I don't hate him. He just sucks.

When did I ever say I want more government? By reducing the size of government and allowing the free market to get better results, you are in effect running the government like a business. Ron Paul may not say it, but he wants to run the government like a business...although he's a little shortsighted, trying to keep in place a congress designed to never get things done.

The problem with government is we have too many people in charge of one function, so nobody is ever held accountable. Nobody runs anything. If you have one person (CEO) in charge of everything, like a business, the CEO would be completely accountable and would not get reelected or would be impeached if he did not get done what he said would get done. If Obama was held accountable, don't you think he'd be impeached for doubling our debt, when he said he would reduce it, and also he found a way to get nothing productive done with the added debt too?

Mittens has one (1) excited supporter and he (she) wants his (her) tummy rubbed:

I would not support that. In fact, this country is being run like a business and that is the problem. The purpose of business is to make money, the purpose of government is supposed to be to protect liberty. Run a govt like a business that has a monopoly on force? a govt that can tax and print money? No, I don't want that run like a business.

You obviously don't know what a good business is. When there is competition, companies actually help people and don't try to screw people over. The companies you are talking about are the ones that have been around for centuries making profits by using the government to help screw people over. The reason they do this is because they are too incompetent to compete for themselves. I would not call these companies good companies and they are not the example I was using. You really sound a lot like Obama supporters who feels business is inherently bad, so have the government do everything.

Like I said earlier, Ron Paul wants to reduce government spending while at the same time getting better results. He would be running things more like a business.

Bain took bailouts while Mittens was at the helm. So him running the government like he ran bain wouldn't be any different than it is run now.

So... who will cheer loudly and gleefully for Mitt Romney? Has anyone actually met another human being who believes Romney is the greatest thing since sliced bread and can't wait to campaign for him?

I haven't met one personally but I know there are a few and they have lots of money and they give it freely to his campaign. They are known as major bankers and they obviously really like Romney because they let their money do their talking for them about just how much they like the man.

pfft. All businesses purpose is to make money. I don't want a government thats purpose is to make money, not when they have the guns and the power.

He also slashed the staff at many of the companies he purchased. We could use someone who's willing to do that with the government.

Maybe, but we also need someone who will protect our civil liberties, end the wars, end the fed secret bailouts, etc....

Mittens just doesn't have what it takes to make any real change in govt. It will be another 4 years of obama, maybe a difference in skin color.

I agree Romney won't make any real changes in government. That was my point. Thats why I don't support him.

Big Bank, Big Insurance, Big Ag, Big Pharma, Big MIC, and Big Police State. Same as Obama's!

Here's a fun thread from a different forum called dinar vets . com. I've been battling these guys on a daily basis for months. Come join the fun!

Recent thread I started, "A Vote For Mitt Romney is a Vote For Barack Obama".

Here is a recent post from a Romney guy...

How about Romney WILL repeal Obamacare; Remove czars; Reduce government size; Cut unnecessary programs; Extend Bush tax cuts; Hopefully overhaul and reduce taxes, government regulations and Social Security; Actually SUPPORT Israel (I know RP hates this); Stop giving preferential treatment to Muslim Brotherhood and Palestinians; NO Van Jones, Bill Ayers, SEIU, etc.; Restore International respect for the USA; ACTUALLY CREATE private sector jobs! (just for starters)

Are you interested in the Iraqi Dinar? They say it will revalue to become a competitive global currency, and anyone holding dinar at the time will see their shares increase wildly in value to the point where many will become millionaires. My dad believes this and has had money invested in the dinar since 2010. Is that why you were on that forum or are you just looking for trouble? ;)

Answer: Rockefeller Moderates. The same Wall Street Moderates that lied and cheated in their quest to beat Goldwater in the 64 election are trying to lie and cheat their way to the Presidential nomination in 12. If you get a chance to read Goldwater's book With No Apologies, be sure to read the three chapters that deal with that election, you'd swear you were reading about this election.

I know who is supporters are, they are people like my parents. It was horrible I had my parents with Ron Paul but then my mother was invited to a roundtable discussion with Romney televised in Michigan. That was that, but typically w/o me they sway towards Romneylike candidates.
A Santorum supporter loves to hear God this, God that.
A gingrich supporter, or at least the ones I've met likes how he likes to dogfight and be ridiculous in debates, impressed by theatrics.

Romney supporters love to hear Jobs, lower taxes, Economy, growth. Hammer the belief of lower taxes and growth. Romney supporters are business folk, people who own small to medium sized businesses. Profit and growth are what drives a Romney supporter. Another group of Romney supporters, light supporters follow the beat obama rhetoric, they just really dislike obama.

I wonder if any of these Romney supporters have ever met a real con man before. Because they are being conned by Romney. He has zero intention of doing any of these things. Anyone who has ever met a con man before, knows the best way to spot them is they have a new story every time you ask them a question. Just like Romney who gives a different story everytime he speaks to a different audience.
