Which liberty candidate to give to?

I really wish Sarah Steelman wasn't on that list.. She's no good, in favor of NDAA, CISPA, PATRIOT ACT.. A real Jihadists are under our beds type. John Brunner is the Liberty candidate for the U.S. Senate in Missouri.

If Steelman is DeMint then Brunner is Rand.

I agree, if that is her position it should say that. I have a real problem with civil liberties not being a huge part of the so called 'purity' rating some here are saying applies. It doesn't even seem to be a factor. If civil liberties are important to you the rating is useless.

No, I think it should be a huge part, more so than foreign policy even. anybody that supports those things won't get a dime or even a second look from me.

not to be unappreciative (cuz that is great!) but it would be nice if it had the "odds" on all the races.

Yeah, it would. That's a hard statistic to gather, as they usually don't do head to head polls in Primary races (other than President).

I added the odds on the one race because we have two candidates for the same office, and there has been enough discussion about that race to get an idea of odds.

I vote for Jeff Flake in AZ Senate. Congressman Flake has always ranked 1 or 2 in the RLC's Liberty Index. His primary is not till Aug. 28. So I thinking of taking a trip to AZ after the CA June 5th Primary.

Flake's awesome.

He also endorsed Romney. He's expected to win the primary AND general election easily. He already has millions of cash on hand.

He doesn't need our help. There are more worthy liberty candidates who not only are more aligned with us but can use the money.

Wasn't the Alaska GOP supposedly "taken over" by a Ron Paul guy too?

Yea but the establishment is still in charge until January, I believe. So any money we send to the Alaska GOP now can still be diverted to other organizations by the establishment.

Couldn't agree more with donating to the Iowa GOP. Think of it this way: a donation to the Iowa GOP is a donation to help AJ Spiker, one of Ron Paul's Iowa state chairmen, who is now the GOP state chairman.

Karen K.

As far as I know, there is no poll data available. At least I haven't seen it.

I'm always bumping Karen because she has such an honest personality and a great resume. Karen really inspires me like Ron Paul does, and that's all I reason I need. I've donated approx. $150 to Karen and $25 to Massie. Both are good, but I don't know much about others.

That is hardly a ringing endorsement. But what are his chances anyways?

His chances are as good as anyone's... the incumbent is a Democrat and the GOP primary is wide open. I don't believe there's been any polling so I can't say for sure. But the local liberty groups are solidly behind Vaughn. I personally spoke with Vaughn at some length and occasionally exchange emails with him, and I donated my own money to his campaign as well. He listens well and is very intelligent - he's an engineer, not a lawyer or career politician.

He's not Ron Paul but Vaughn is definitely on the right side. I've been personally educating him on major issues as well - if you read his issues positions and are familiar with my style, you will see that he is already adopting much of what I've taught him; his heart was already there and I provided hard facts to back them up. He is one of us, principled and loyal to the traditions of liberty. Please take a look and evaluate his credentials and positions for yourself: http://www.vaughnforcongress.com/

What are her chances? Realistically?

Here's some relevant info from another thread (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?366320-Karen-Kwiatkowski-need-her-own-sub-forum-It-s-up-now):

2012 Republican 6th District House of Representatives Primary Straw Poll:

Karen Kwiatkowski – 47%

Bob Goodlatte – 43%

Other (no name filled in) – 3%

Office left blank – 3%

Would not vote in the GOP Primary – 3%

Our district is around 800,000 registered voters.

Conservative district. Primary IS election.

Open primary (Republicans and Democrats can vote)

Democrats hate the incumbent. First chance in 20 years democrats can beat incumbent Goodlatte (first republican primary). Karen is the anti-goodlatte vote.

Many Republicans view goodlatte as sellout. Authored SOPA (with Lamar), raised debt ceiling at least 7x, funded Obamacare & planned parenthood, for all other positions refer to partison RINO (No child left behind, medicare part D, all war votes, etc)

Karen is highly favored by district tea-parties, active RP crowd, and several unit chairs.

Estimated votes needed to win June 12 primary: 20-30k (<3%)

It's completely a GOTV boots on the ground game.

Current incumbent strategy: Ignore primary (Which means no GOTV!), show face more frequently in district.

No major polling that I'm aware of has been done. She is highly favored among straw polls conducted by local tea-parties, political activist groups etc.

My personal opinion is it's one of the best candidates/chances we the liberty movement have. It is also possible IF the larger RP movement would rally around her.

A handful of jobless/mobile/hardworking activists could push it over. We could also utilize any hands from the larger RP movement willing to work from a distance (phone-from-home etc)

Anyone who wants more info message me and I'm willing to talk on the phone.

Thanks for that. I did some searching and most comments are that he raises so much money that her opponent is tough to beat.

Also this comment on past tactics by him:
a robo call he put out on election day 2 years ago about getting out to vote to protect their medicare. He started it out saying it was a beautiful, warm election day. Then he went on to say that their benefits were in jeopardy and to please get out and vote for him to protect them. He then repeats himself (Go and vote for Bob Goodlatte) a few times, as if the person receiving the call was hard of hearing. He specifically targeted seniors in that call and have is notorious for sending out fliers in the mail targeting seniors and touting himself as the protector of medicare. I know that not all seniors are fans of his, but he plays the seniors card A LOT. He knows what to say to get a reaction from them and it does work in his favor a lot of times.

She have any way of combatting this guy if he has loads of cash and history of scaring seniors?

Over the first quarter of 2012, Kwiatkowski raised $36,237, and she's raised $68,086 so far in the two-year 2011-12 cycle, according to reports filed with the Federal Election Commission. As of March 31, she had $29,372 in cash on hand.

Goodlatte raised $237,782 over the first quarter of 2012 and had $1.1 million in cash on hand as of March 31. According to open-secrets.org, the industries that contributed the most money were "computers/Internet" and "TV/movies/music."

She definitely needs the cash.

Im becoming a fan of Art Robinson for Congress out in Oregon. He sent me his book today just because I donated some money. He seems like the real deal and if he can win a Congressional seat I can see him picking up where RP is leaving off, but with even more fire.

I haven't seen where Art has taken a stand on the war on drugs. Considering his prospective constituency, an "end the war on drugs" stance could be popular.
