Where to live free?

There is no where on Earth left to go.

Which means the only place left to go is... off Earth.

Our species will never be free so long as we are confined to a single ecosystem or even a single solar system.

The most tragic loss of the 20th century wasn't the lives wasted in wars, it was our inheritance as a species wasted on war when we should have used those resources to colonize the solar system.

Why most humans are so damn short sighted is beyond me, but we are.

I have to wonder why they don't think about buying an ACTUAL island, or even sovereign nation. I'm sure they have the money to do it. I'd be the first to sign up if it was an actual stable island. However, that island/boat thing wigs me out, way too claustrophobic, and I'd hate to see a tsunami run by. Not to mention that they obviously cannot produce any food, water or fuel on a fake island, and thus are dependent on trade or constant infusions of cash from somewhere else.

A tsunami would not do anything to the island if it is well off the coast.

Why does't a state get some balls and succeed? I would move there in a heart beat assuming it was freedom, liberty oriented and libertarian inclusive.

I hate the cold but would move to Montana, N. Dakota, Alaska, etc.

Rebuild America within the United States, I'd rather stay here and fight the war. And I don't need all of the United States to be free, just the region in which I live. Pick a small location (with better weather than that of New Hampshire), write an improved Constitution, and build defenses against the imperial USA.

and build defenses against the imperial USA.

This is impossible unless you had someone from the Military Industrial Complex defect, pad the books,...ultra covert dealings.....

You could spend your life building a fortress for defense against the masses, but when the gov't comes for you, they can wipe you out from a thousand miles away.

Unfortunately as it stands now, they are wiping people out from thousands of miles away around the globe. We have to focus on stopping them from do this now, so we won't have to worry about it here.

Absolutely

Better weather than New Hampshire? Why don't you want 4 seasons :) You don't like to ski, tube or snowboard? It is a lot of fun! BTW, as far as I am aware, NH has the most pro-liberty state constitution in the US :) I'm still surprised that people are answering this question with anything but New Hampshire. I guess a lot of people on this forum have never been to Porcfest :(

I would join the Free State Project in a flash if it were located in a better climate. I have warm-weather blood, have always been bitterly unhappy in cold regions.

Micro-secession FTW! :)

The list of wars the US hasn't executed successfully is a long one. Further, American vs. American in either-or's homeland? That would be a tough one. Finally, how many military minded folks would personally support the cause of liberty?

I believe the US government would attempt to infiltrate w/ CIA, for certain. Structured properly, completely defendable. But, they'd definitely mess with our shipping lanes. And they'd sanction us any way they could. But I'd guess we would have significant international support.

What do you think of the Free State West project? http://freestateproject.org/news/media_archive/0035.php

American vs. American? They're already doing it, and no one's rallying together. Ultimately we're just proles, and if someone does get prepared they're 'wacko' or 'a terrorist'- see NDAA, DHS, MIAC, the recent FBI report.....

Precisely.

What I see are a lot of strong people willing to go down individually, for the cause. I believe that if we consolidate our strength into a smaller defenseable area we could weather the storm together, rather than being picked off individually. United we stand.

Can't worry about what others think of us.

You're entitled to accept your slavery. I don't and would like to see my rights exercised, en masse standing shoulder to shoulder w/ my fellow INTJ's, in my lifetime leaving behind what the founders left for us.

I hope it never comes to that, and I think we're all trying to exhaust every option available, but believe me, I share your sentiment.
