What's for dinner?

Chicken livers aren't like beef liver. When you roll them in flour and pan fry them, they're really good. Try it.

Oh, I've had to try them. That's the way my mom makes them. I don't like liver - I won't even eat liverwurst. You and Terry can have mine.:)

For dinner I had a beer and a bowl of Brunswick Stew.

My mom and brothers love chicken livers but I can't stand liver. It's one of the few things I won't put in my mouth.

Are you trying to taunt Danke?

I won't eat Miracle Whip or rice pudding. The MW tastes like old, sweetened mayo to me, and rice pudding just has a godawful texture and is way too sweet. Blargh.

Ya, like you cook.

I made sausage and sauerkraut again with Czech sausage, onions, and apples. I'm kind of getting hooked on that stuff for some reason.

Sauerkraut is one thing I can't eat. Even the smell, I don't like. A lot of people like it. I suppose that its an aquired taste. That onions and apple combo sounds like something to try, though.

The onions and apples go well with the cabbage , well enough anyone can eat it if they try it, because even if you do not like cabbage or onions it does not taste like them . I stuff my baked wild turkeys etc with that and save the broth , makes great beef stew stock , or you can make gravy with it .

It's funny....I went for years and couldn't eat it. My mom used to make weenies and sauerkraut when we were kids and I got sick of it. It's just in the last year Ive started liking it again. Sauerkraut is actually a great probiotic because of the fermentation and good for the gut. I can actually just eat it right out of the jar now.

I always stuff my baked chicken with apples and onions. Keeps it moist.

Yes:)

Miracle Whip is gross. I've never had rice pudding but it sounds nasty. I have an Aunt that makes "cracker salad" with Miracle Whip. She says "it's just like potato salad but with crackers". I don't like potato salad but cracker salad just ain't right. I think she got a Miracle Whip cookbook back in the 1970's and just won't let it die. She also makes weird jello molds. The only thing she makes that's edible is a Graham Cracker Cake, it's got candied fruit in it, and it's surprisingly delicious. Maybe she has a cracker cookbook.

A friend of my dad's used to eat Limburger cheese and onion sandwiches:eek:, those things smelled disgusting. After my dad retired, he would come over and bring his own sandwich for lunch. My mom thought it was some kind of "yankee food" (he was from NY) but my dad said he was a "day drinker" and ate them to disguise the liquor on his breath. If that was the case, someone needed to tell him about breath mints cuz that man reeked.

Back to liver. My husband keeps trying to get me to try liverwurst, he loves it. I keep telling him, if I don't like liver why on earth would I like the wurst part of the liver, lol. He keeps explaining what "wurst" is to me and I keep pretending not to understand that it doesn't mean worst.:D He's starting to think I'm slow. I know what it is, I just play dumb to aggravate him.

I like your strategy.

My mom tricked me into trying liverwurst--don't do it. It's bad, horrible and terrible. Also tried limburger cheese--it's actually better than liverwurst, but that ain't saying much.

Oh, and anyone who made cracker salad would be banned from any future events involving food.

I tried making a cheeseburger with limburger cheese. I found it one of the most gross things I've ever eaten. It wasn't inedible but I wouldn't EVER make it again. My buddy though, he loved it. Weirdo.

Just did a break-fix at a place called "Smashburger." Had never heard of them before. Place looked and smelled wonderful so I tried it.

Got a Buffalo & Blue burger, with Buffalo fries.

OM NOM NOM NOM wow, 5 of 5, will eat there again. :)

We have one here. I still like Fuddruckers better though.

I use blue cheese on mine. My dad used to eat Limburger and would put a big wedge on his plate and we had to sit there and smell it.

I used to fix them back in the day. They are not a client now, but I have eaten there quite a bit. Their servings are usually too much for me, like Red Robin. They are really good though. A lot longer of a wait for food at Fuddruckers as compared to Smashburger though, from what I recall.

I've been wanting to learn how to make pate, because those I've tried were usually made with pork liver and fat. I want to try one made with beef liver and butter.
