What's for dinner?

Ya , made my own tonight , jowl bacon sandwich and beer , the Mrs made lasagna , but I am taking that for lunch tomorrow and hoping I have time to eat lunch :).You dd well Phil !

Speaking of bacon! I had some on the burger. I don't know if anyone else does bacon this way, but... I line a sheet pan w/ non-stick parchment paper and lay the bacon out on it. I sprinkle a little brown sugar on the bacon then into the oven at 350 until crisp. For the burger I used a Chipotle mustard for a little heat/sweet with the brown sugar bacon.

Oh--now I love those! :p

Eh--I'm not in the mood to cook tonight--at all. I think I'm gonna make a booze run and probably stop and get the gang some fast food tonight. We usually eat late, so they're probably getting McDonald's or Burger King. Hub's working tonight--so it's just me and the peeps. I usually do a big Sunday feast, so tomorrow I think I'll fire up our new grill we got and have some BBQ'd chicken with a melon salad, potato or macaroni salad.

I'm packing the house up. So all we're eating is mostly crap food, but I did make shrimp cocktail--I love horseradish, but the kid doesn't like it nearly as much.

Pappadeaux for dinner tonight. My baby boy turned 16 today and we're taking him out for his birthday.:)

I spent many an evening at Pappadeaux in South Denver. Oddly, I never went to the one in Phoenix. Speaking of AZ, if you're ever in Scottsdale, Malee's On Main has fabulous food. In Santa Fe, Mudu Noodles - a bit $$ but great cuisine.

Homemade chili that was pressure canned in December, mixed with jalapeno mac and cheese, and shredded 4-cheddar cheese.

I had a canteloup. It was good, too. I ate the whole thing.

I love cantaloupe. When I was a kid and my dad took us to the Farmers Market there was an old man who used to hawk his melons. He would call out, 'If your honey's dew, ya cantaloupe.' and "watermelon, watermelon, red to rind, sweet all the time.':D
