Whatcha fixin' for Thanksgiving?

Nice. I'm jealous. Did you ever call that girl from the Friday night liquor thread?

Actually I did and it was her real number too! lol
We met again for dinner and drinks then I left town. I am sitting in Atlanta airport right now and get into Sarasota late. I will re-connect with her this week. I'll keep ya posted ;)

Re-aggravated the herniated disc in my back so we'll be having dinner elsewhere. I made the traditional turkey dinner for many years though. I still prefer my dressing to most.

Usually I do most of it myself. This year, I ain't doing jack. I'm letting the rest of the family take care of me.

I will proably make a stuffing though. It's made with fresh bread, lots of eggs, onions, celery, butter and whatever else I feel like adding. It taste like a savory bread pudding.

Well, that didn't last long, lol. Ya caved on making stuffing pudding in 6 minutes. I bet you end up making everything, washing the dishes and giving out foot massages.:D

shopping complete.. so the green will be asparagus (yeah.. I splurged) the pork will be roasted with apples and onions - should make a pretty cool gravy for the yams and *purple yams* I got two huge red beets but I think that might be going overboard on color what with the purple
cheesecake for dessert

Hope you feel better . Happy Thanksgiving .

Thanksgiving feast started last Sun for me , resume tomorrow through Sat . , I am good at this . As a Great American Patriot there will be no California products used , as usual . We will not support those tyrants .

The Thanksgiving family drama's already started. My husband's crazy sister's (the one who thinks I should be arrested for treason) daughter is in jail. Apparently, she tried to steal a tv from Walmart a few months ago and didn't pay her fines or go to probation and when she was pulled over (no car insurance) they arrested her. She had a warrant out for the tv.

And he thinks my family's crazy...

Why the hell did she try to steal something from walmart? They have cameras over literally every square inch of the property.

She. is. fucking. crazy.

Seriously, she's schizo, bi polar with multiple personalities. Apparently, her husband and kids were grocery shopping and her crazy ass throws a tv in a cart and tries to push it out the door. Her husband was wondering what the commotion was by the exit and there's Cara getting arrested.

Not doing the cookin' this year :D but I'm going to put protein powder (made out of beans/seeds/legumes I ground myself) on just about everything. :D #everythingismusclefuel

You must have insanely high metabolism.

I have a feeling I'm going to look like an idiot. I decided to beautify today because I'm cooking tomorrow and won't have time. Anyway, my face shaving didn't take as long as usual (I'm getting good at it:cool:) and my eyebrow wax didn't have time to properly heat up. I decided to give it a shot anyway and I pulled the top layer of skin off. Now, I think I'm going to have scabs on my eyelids.:o

The good news is crazy sister in law is too busy worrying about her crazy daughter to make spaikopita. The bad news is, she's making a sugar free pumpkin pie.

I do! I'm also really active. Unlike most everyone else, I have trouble gaining weight. :( Strength comes pretty easy-mass, not so much. :/ #hardgainerproblems

gonna make my maple-syrup and honey based pecan pie, probably going to throw in some cacao powder this year as well.

Well I'm done.

And just because somebody asked. (the cacao powder is new addition this year, I like it)

1.5 cups maple syrup
.5 cup honey
6 eggs (beaten)
6 Tbls butter (salted)
2 Tbls cacao powder
2 cups pecan pieces

Put maple syrup, honey, butter, cacao powder into a big pan and bring it to a low simmer for about 5 minutes.
Turn off heat, let cool for about 2 minutes.
Stir in beaten eggs (quickly, really stir up quick, you don't want cooked stringy egg parts)
Stir in pecans
Turn heat on low and lightly stir for about 5 minutes.
Pour into pie shell.

Bake at 325 for about 30 minutes or until it is firm/set.

The recipe above made the above pictured 9" pie and 4 mini cupcake sized pies (gotta have a mini pie for taste testing)

I used a generic pie crust recipe, but this year I put in a touch of coffee flour just for kicks.

Ask if you can borrow the TV since she will not be needing it. I wonder what else she got ?

Thats about like just eating the pulp right outta the pumpkin , I know because I have tried both .
