The last election RP hung around a good while after most had dropped out, and then announced he was releasing a book...

I'm guessing this same thing will happen again.

Any guesses on what topic it will address?

I have a feeling he will steer clear of politics this time and make this next book some sort of cheap romantic novel

Yeah, just think how far he could advance the liberty movement if he did something like that. It would set us ahead by decades.
Oh, I think he'll do that, for sure. He'll come out of the closet if he doesn't win. It might make more sense for the thousand-year plan (Rand, etc.) to keep it quiet, but then again, maybe not. He already basically has come out of the closet, for those who pay close enough attention and can put together the pieces. I don't think Ron has been a true minarchist for a long time, if indeed he ever was.

He'll do it in a respectable and intelligent way, and the MSM won't pay any attention, and so it won't hurt Rand's career at all, but as you say it would greatly advance the liberty movement.

Agreed. I've definitely heard some things he says lead me to believe that he is a closet anarcho-capitalist.

I don't see how Ron could possibly still be a minarchist after all these years studying economics, politics, and philosophy. Especially when he with such close ties to Rothbard, Lew Rockwell, and the Mises Institute which is almost completely anarcho-capitalist. I'd venture to guess that 75-90%+ of major Austrian economists are anarcho-capitalists. Plus, from my anecdotal observations, a large portion of people who start out as minarchists and then are exposed to anarcho-capitalist ideas through Rothbard, the Mises Institute, etc. come around to it after a few years.

Nope, it was not Cleveland. John Quincy Adams was the only President to be in the House of Representatives after being President. And then Andrew Johnson was the only President to be in the Senate after being President. So Ron Paul would be the second one to follow the plan of your proposed book.
