What victory is, and isn't

Remember, the stephenopolous interview. Victory is so much bigger than just winning the election. Many will laugh at that statement. Ron Paul isn't the status quo slick politician that is willing to sell out his ideals to get elected. We didn't get behind Ron because we thought he was the most electable person in the race. That has never been the case, at least for me. Ron won't lie to the people. Sadly that already pretty much eliminates one's chance at the nomination.

The bigger issue is what is victory? In this situation, it's standing up for what is right, and what is best for our country, best for our troops, best for our families now and for the generations to come. Victory is opening up peoples eyes to the truth, and not giving up hope for the political situation that our country is currently in.

Our country is in a huge political and economic mess and needs a political savior to lead us out. Ron Paul came upon the scene almost like a prophet, only to be laughed at, mocked and mostly ignored. Worse could have happened had he done better. This has happened before, look at Jesus and what was done to him when He came to save the people.

Victory is not being elected president and winning the race. Victory is staying true to your convictions as to exactly what is best for our country. If you get elected, you will have accomplished a great feat, a truly great feat, influencing over half of this country to stand behind you without selling out and pandering to them.

It is often said that you can measure a leader by his followers. Ron Paul has powerfully influenced hundreds of thousands of people, and motivated them to follow him in his pursuit of liberty and freedom for this country. That is victory in this political race.

Also, like "American Empire" said, Ron Paul is someone that you admire, look up to, and is someone that you want to teach your kids about. He's a hero to thousands. He's like a dad or a grandfather to us, someone that, often for the first time, he's someone that we can look up to and say that we would like to become like him. You can't say that about the other candidates, you just can't.

My support of Ron Paul, his ideas and thus his campaign will not die in New Hampshire. I feel like I'm telling people about a hero of mine, not a politician. When was the last time you looked up to a politician or found yourself saying "I want to become like this guy."? That's victory.

I feel exactly the same way. I'm going to be following Ron Paul through the entire rat race and for a long long time after that. 1st time in 8 years I'll have voted. 1st time in 8 years I've been unemployed, and yet.. 1st time in my life I've ever donated money to a political campaign.
