Never would I have thought, at 18 years of age, I would be interested to see how a candidate does in a Caucus in another country! Freedom is a powerful message...

Anyway, about what time would the results be in UK time?

I hope this spreads to the UK! You guys have the same type of govt over there.

Thankyou. Im doing politics as one of my final A level subjects, and this year its all about American politics.

Ive educated them a lot about Ron Paul, they wouldnt know otherwise considering we get some resources on the election from the BBC website. We also get a weekly political journal and in it a little piece on Ron Paul (it was written at the end of November) called him "far right libertarian" and "extreme" and this is meant to be an independent, Govt run booklet for young adults.

When I go back next week, this caucus will be over and NH Primary on the way, hopefully I can get some more discussion about Ron!

i am refreshing this forum every 10 seconds, i talked about the iowa caucus more than anything else today at work (nokia siemens networks), people think i'm going crazy, but i'm really really nervous and excited about it.

people were quite surprised when i told them about ron paul and his message.

he is catching on ... ! :)

My friend who is Jordanian is also a big supporter. Now he went to visit his dad in Jordan in August and the subject came up about the next President and a bar full of Jordanians had heard, and supported Ron Paul!

Really does show how powerful this message is.

I to am in the UK and hoping beyond hope that Ron paul can win this.
You are right to say we have the same governement over here if you consider that Gordon Brown became primeminister without a single vote being cast anywhere. The difference between us and the American people is that you may just have a chance to take you country back. Most people in the UK are far to dumbed down to even care anymore. I hope i'm wrong. Go Ron Paul! (If he wins in November i'm moving to the USA....legally that is)

i don't think us (europeans) are dumber or more intelligent, the loss of freedom isn't visible enough yet here in my opinion, thats all.

even if it was visible enough, i doubt europe has a ron paul type of guy in politics.

You guys are great

I truly believe that this will begin to wonderfully infect all with a desire for freedom with responsibility, not just freedom to do whatever one wants to do (that is chaos). Welcome to the REVOLUTION!

True. Our political system doesn't allow us to select an individual like Ron Paul because we have to vote for a political party and the party decides who the leader is.

Greetings from Inverness, Scotland. I will be 67 years young on Sunday and I support RP in prayer. This is the most important election in US history, no hyperbole. There are many meet-up groups all over Europe, and in other parts of the world. People are opposed to the EU here but their voices and votes are being ignored. Here in the UK the Prime Minister refuses to give us a say on whether we want to be a part of a European super state. They already decided (in 1952) that this was the best way to go and they have been moving in that direction ever since. It is the evolution of politics towards world government to accommodate the ruling plutocratic elite of the planet. Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate who is opposed to such a development.

7 PM CST (-6 GMT)

so...

about 1 AM UK time?

My understand is that the Caucus will begin at 7pm CST. The results will not be available for at least several hours. I would not count on knowing anything until the early morning. About 7am UK time.

Actually it's much much worse and VERY socialist indeed. They've had universal health care for several decades and the 1689 BoR that was the inspiration for the American version has been all but obliterated by self-serving politicians who have disarmed the taxpayers and installed CCTV cameras everywhere to watch the populace.

On the subject of universal healthcare, Britain is a prime example of what happens when you give the government a MONOPOLY on such things: yesterday in the news they announced that they plan to refuse health treatment to anyone who smokes, drinks or is overweight - even though that person may have paid the national insurance (social security) for many decades.

Our government in Britain is infested with traitors. Traitors who have handed my country over to the EU by stealth and lies.

With the full back up of the MSM (especially the taxpayer funded BBC), they have downplayed how much influence the EU has on Britain. It makes 80% of our laws and we can't hire or fire it's president or commision. They are selected, not elected.

God help us all when Bliar is appointed as leader for services rendered to the NWO.

Please God, let the USA people take their country back. Then, even the BBC will not be able to block this news out. Then a docile, dumbed down public might start asking why they are less free now than ever before and why they hand over more tax for less in return!

True. The thing is that if RP does well in the States it will catch on over this side of the pond. I am in Ireland but the mainstream politicians here aren't much better.

I was thinking today how refreshing it would be to hear someone in the U.K parliament come out and just start speaking the truth without the rhetoric and bullshit. That's what I love about Dr. Paul.

I'm planning to come over there for the inaugaration when RP wins.

On the point of our Universal Healthcare, if i break my leg at home today I will be able to be seen immediately at no cost. The accident and emergency aspect of our NHS is one of the best in the world and im no socialist.

Our problems have occured regarding seeing doctors and selling off of vital parts of the Health Service to private firms. For example, since private contractors were made responsible for cleaning our hopsitals, they have become far more dirty as the firms are there to make money as a first priority.

The hospital car parks here have also been sold off to big corporations. We now have to pay upwards of £3 an hour to visist our sick family and friends.

How inspiring it is to see Ron Paul's message working in other countries as well. I am totally inspired by all you people! Reading your messages actually chokes me up a bit. Let's hope and pray that this will be a wave of peace and freedom that spreads all the way around the globe!

Like mother earth hugging herself! :)

I have typed myself blue on other websites trying to tell the average Joes here in the U.S. that our voter base is the most powerful power broker in the world, and affects everyone. Thank you so much for chiming in, and for the kind words!
I don't have an atlas handy to count time zones with, but the BBC here (I'm not in Iowa, but Oklahoma, also in the CST zone) announces 14 hours GMT when my NPR station cuts to them at 11 p.m. (23 hours CST). So, I think the Iowa cauci will start at 5 hours GMT--and no, results will not be official for some time. Also remember that Iowa is far from our most populous state, and this is just a primary.
It will, however, make quite a difference to our political discourse if (scratch that--I mean when) we do well. And that, alone, will be a huge evolutionary step in democracy worldwide.
Keep those prayers going! Thanks for the kind words!

Of course, I might be having a brain fart, too. 7+12=1900 hours CST -9= 10 hours GMT--I think. That sounds better. Cheers!

Sorry. I just did a time check via the 'net and it appears, interestingly enough, that the BBC isn't carried live in Oklahoma. The cauci in Iowa will start at 1 a.m. GMT--good job, crusader, your brilliance is confirmed. The straw poll should be over by 2 a.m. GMT, and the results will certainly be official by the time the sun shines on the Thames. That's my final word, I promise.
