What the hell is the Campaign doing with all the f***ing money?

The OP has a point. The tube is the stage, the candidates are fighting to maximize their performance before the American audience. That's the truth of the day.

It is quite possible to disseminate the right message while looking good. But it doesn't come naturally. It requires coaching, persistent coaching. The correct reaction, the correct facial expression, the correct tone of voice.

It defies the logic of sound reasoning, but we are convincing Americans at large, not intellectual, open-minded folk.

People become hypnotized when watching TV (seriously) and the correct combination of stimuli, causing feedback in their mind, will register. That is, if you look the part and act the part, you must be the real thing.

I agree completely with the premise of this thread. Less than $300,000 in T.V. ads in New Hampshire? Are you F*CKING KIDDING ME?!

This should have been Ron Paul's best state. Instead it's just another insignificant 5th place finish. What a pathetic attempt. I want my money back.

The campaign didn't fail us. The American public failed us. They don't want principled leadership. They want a warmongering welfare state.

is it the soapbox you stand upon or the message that's important?

In this country, it is most defintely the soap box that you stand on. Elections are popularity contests and always have been.

For the number of times I've heard that there were so many Ron Paul signs on front lawns in New Hampshire that it looked like he was a realtor (lol) I am really surprised he didn't do better. Or at least beat Juliani. Getting RP's message out is still vitaly important, but it's becoming clear that hanging signs and all the rah rah rah isn't having enough effect.

Much of the future success of this campaign lies in the hands of Ron himself.

I hope it can happen. Ron Paul may be the most unselfish, principled, intelligent, dedicated politician we ever see in our lifetimes.

We need new campaign people....Hillary was going to reorganize her campaign before tonight because she wasn't doing well, and she still is going to add in more people.

Where is our change of leadership?! We are losing damn it and our message is just fine, its not being delivered effectively or to enough people.

I only became a RP supporter mid december, but RP's campaign has gone from poorly funded to well funded, have we switched from a cheap campaign staff to a top notch one we can now afford?? I'm asking a serious question here. I don't know. It just seems to me we should have upgraded campaign staffing when we got an upgraded budget to do it. I agree with everyone else, we LOOK like a grassroots campaign, there isn't any reason for it.

And just what sort of troll are you? Are you the Ghoulish or the Hucksterish sort? Go away little troll.

I now believe he is sandbagging for a 3rd party run. I am the last person to want to say it, but face up to this. Ron's purpose is to instill the power of the patriot in as many as possible.

I don't think he is sandbagging for a 3rd party run. I do think he is trying to keep the campaign going as long as possible so he can bring as many people into the movement as possible.

Frankly I remain amazed that 8-10% of Americans respond to the message. Responsiblity is always a hard sell. Especially with a big nanny state tossing out bread & circuses willy-nilly. Keep the faith!

Ron Paul has spent the last 30 years of his life devoted to the cause of liberty. He has faced the derision of his colleagues on both sides of the aisle while never wavering from what he knew to be right. He got himself reelected to Congress in 1996 when the Republican party used every trick in the book to try and beat him. His opponent in that election says that NO ONE SHOULD EVER UNDERESTIMATE RON PAUL.

He is the strongest man I have ever known in my life. Not strong enough? You need to have your head examined.

+100

300,000 in TV ads, thats it!!!! He/she isn't a troll, we are losing for no good reason. I'm a female democrat for Pete's sake and the message reached me, last night I was bombarded with phone calls from some of my friends who saw the Leno interview. The message isn't the problem, its being delivered by incompetents...that's the problem.

And just what sort of troll are you? Are you the Ghoulish or the Hucksterish sort? Go away little troll.

Screw you, jackass. I've got a sign in my yard and I've donated over 200 bucks even though I can't afford it, not to mention campaigning for hours on the weekends and handing out about a thousand slim jims. I've earned the right to be pissed at the incompetence of this campaign.

Well since the campaign has failed to deliver once again, I propose everyone start filing complaints of fraud with the F.E.C. (Federal Elections Commission)

Maybe this will get the attention of all the arrogant losers who "THINK" they know how to run a campaign, but obviously, even with a good warchest, cannot fathom on how to do it.

Unfortunately Ron is a fiscal conservative in any sense of the word. In his life and in his career. I wish it weren't so, but it is! But then again, someone like Huckabee and McCain barely spends money yet they are ahead...so money is not everything. It's name recognition.

And that is DIRECTLY attributed to the media. Im seeing that in the end, what the media says matters above anything else. If the media started pimping RP he would be winning. Notice how Huck had no support, no money, nothing but as soon as the media started pushing him he ends up winning Iowa. McCain was dead in the water but over the last few weeks out of nowhere the media started pushing him as "a comeback story" (utter bullshit...hes campaigning on loaned money) and had him all over the place as the contender to Romney. Boom! McCain wins NH. Im getting to the point where I think we are done simply because the media ignores RP intentionally. The media really does control the political process and tonite gave me a moment of absolute clarity. The country is screwed because the sheep vote for who the media tells to vote for. Vote for the "winner" so he becomes the "winner". Sickening.

In the end Paul maybe not have been the guy strong enough to carry the message. He is very reserved and has repeatedly said that he's just apart of the idea of freedom not the man leading the cause. The fact that he doesn't take the roll as leader is probably what turns people off.

Sadly, I think you are right.

The campaign didn't fail us. The American public failed us. They don't want principled leadership. They want a warmongering welfare state.

Stop blaming the people! Most people don't know about Paul!
We need commercials to atleast introduce people to him. And they need to be damn good looking ones too, the type that show that Ron Paul is the type of person these people should bother to look into.

You see, the message is fine and dandy, and if it's a good message (Which in this case it is) it will get out to a certain amount of people (IE look around) but we need to show the others the one's who aren't privileged to be either into politics enough to know about Paul, nor are perhaps interested much in politics atall.

Paul has an amazing base but no real casual voters on his side, he needs those casual voters. Casual voters are swayed by the media and good commercials and other exposure. (Canvassing to a lesser extent).
