What Senator reflects your values better than Rand Paul?

No one represents my value in the Senate more than Rand..hence why the Senate sucks. I still won't vote for Rand or donate money to him to be President, and once we have a few more libertarians up there, I'd support running him out of the Senate as well. The fact he happens to be the most libertarian Senator doesn't mean he's special...he still needs to be held to account. Run someone else for President in 2016...or face a shattered movement.

I don't know. I think possibly he could have, just because 2010 was a big tea party/anti establishment year. Well I was personally still more of a mainstream Republican at the time and a casual RP supporter (voted for Ron, but was still figuring things out). I remember I first took notice of Rand because I liked Ron from 2008, but it was the tea party association at the time that held my interest. So if it weren't for Ron having ever campaigned, I think I still would have probably become a supporter anyway. But then that goes back to the question, if it weren't for Ron in the first place, would the tea party still have happened?

It wouldn't have been a Randslide, but yes he could have won without RP2008. It's been mentioned here before that the Kentucky Tea Parties in 2010 were not traceable to the Ron Paul Revolution in an obvious way.

See, I can understand not compromising with evil on evil principles... like when the Republicans and Democrats come together and agree on indefinite detention, or things like that. But how is Rand evil? Ron isn't against the idea of compromise, but is concerned with aiming to compromise over the right issues/principles. There's a difference.

Don't bother. Some folks would rather we split our firepower between the Constitution/Libertarian/Marijuana/Reform Parties and only get 2.1% combined in the Presidential elections forever. That's a better way of cutting spending and ending overseas policing.

1) Rand Paul
2) Mike Lee
3) Jim Demint

It drops off pretty fast after that.

I would add 4) Tom Coburn, because of his understanding for the need of seriously cutting spending and that means PENTAGON/military as well as domestic and entitlements. It seems as tho some of us that can't see the liberty forest for the trees, calling Rand names because of the Romney endorsement or because he voted on one or two things they don't like, need to understand that we MUST find allies when and where we can. Hell, ONLY 6 Republicans, 6 Democrats & 1 Socialist independant stood WITH US and against unconstitutional indefinite detention.
