What is the plan in Tampa?

Here, the first 2 minutes is an introduction. It is a GREAT introduction and you should watch it but if you have no patience right now, skip to a little after the two minute mark:

I'm trying, I'm trying reaaaaaalll hard to be patient.

I'm sure he does not say in clear words what I want him to, otherwise you would have given me the precise time that he did.

I'll look at it after a while...

Wait until after all the conventions to ask. We need to know how many delegates we have.

However, with five states we can nominate Ron Paul on the floor and he can give a nomination speech, unedited, as a matter of right. It would be the first time that happened since 1976. Being historic, and with all media present, it would be high profile. It would cement his influence as leader of the opposition (this is why Santorum is jumping in, to at least try to make sure there are 'two leaders of the opposition' continuing to split the conservatives, however, there will be many things his supporters should agree with us on, and I expect Ron will have more true and actual delegates there. Romney's credentials committee will have big influence on that, however, which I'm sure tickles him.) Then delegates would at least have a choice. With six states, or coalitions creating six states supporting specific issues Ron can bring and pass motions. Rules will be created to govern the next election and future RNCs. Leadership of the national party will be created and solidified, and we want to be part of the people needed for them to hold seats and get what we can as we start to take back the party. Conservatives will actually DO BUSINESS at the party convention for the first time in a generation.

But until all the state conventions are over, we don't know what we can do.

And please tell me how the give-up-letter from Ron Paul and the endorsement of Romney by Rand Paul now, before all conventions are over, will help to select RP delegates? Following your logic, what was the reason to do it now but not, at least, a month later if not at the RNC?

Are you suggesting that Ron Paul would be OBLIVIOUS to the impact of Rand's endorsement of Romney would have on his devoted and tireless "inch wide mile deep" base? Do you reckon Ron Paul was UNAWARE of No One But Paul?

NOBP? I'll bet he was pretty unaware. I don't think Ron really was tracking Rand's endorsement that closely. I'm expect he gave at least a general 'you should do what you think right' blessing, but he would have said the same thing to Rand a year ago. Ron has said 'Rand Paul is his own man' in the past when they differed on things, and he thinks everyone is their own person.

Argh. He said it makes no sense to unify around the wrong principles, we need to unify around the right principles. He said we should unify around the Constitution, bring back old Republican ideals of civil liberty and defensive military etc. Basically he was saying that the party should unify around his message. He never mentioned Romney.

It is a great speech and I bet AJ never saw it.

Fucking right.

And I have had that smoke blown up my ass before.

When Ron says he would CUT agencies. I believe he would.
When he says he would open the books. I believe he would.

When he says "republicans" will.. I have no reason to believe that shit.

I have no idea why Rand did what he did, but what YOU, not the email itself, call the 'give up letter' was sent out the night before the speech I just posted. Even though I do NOT read the email as 'giving up', it made me furious. However, there seems to be some disconnect, or maybe the campaign forgot to tell Ron he was 'giving up'.

Fucking right.

I agree. But if he isn't going to be nominated, (and he is still in the race if we can get him enough delegates, he just doesn't see a count for them) what is the best thing you want him to do? What about saying to the GOP what they should do and continue to lead, ideologically, the faction that intends to do that?

At this point?

What I would want him to say to the GOP leadership?

"You're all bunch of criminals, gangsters and tyrants. I feel soiled even associating with you people all these years. I did it as a duty to liberty and freedom. But, now that I'm retired, kiss my ass, I'll have no part of your phony charades, empty promises and death dealing rhetoric. You're all a contemptible disgrace to the principles of the founders, the bill of rights and liberty. Fuck you very much."

If I'm not mistaken, Ron Paul says that pretty much every day, only in the kind of language that sophisticated 80 year olds tend to use.

You've known me for years now.

Never have I pretended to be polished or a smooth talker.

However, even saying that in dignified tones, would not be "respectful".

The campaign has said everybody must be "respectful".

I don't have any respect for abusive tyrants, criminals, gangsters and thugs.

Fuck them.

Plan is to win... or to win something meaningful for the millions of hours that supporters/delegates put into this.

I have seen nothing leading me to believe he is retired.

"With all due respect Major Sphincter, you are an idiot who is about to get your battalion killed."

Depending on what message is being conveyed, 'respect' can be merely dressing. But in those conditions that 'dressing' can mean the difference between saving a whole battalion from perdition, or ending up in Leavenworth.

Did he not retire from his Congressional seat?

i think he was pissed at how little they were letting him do on committee and decided to work from outside, rather like Norquist, only for liberty. I was sick over it... but meanwhile he hasn't left his seat yet.

And I will be deeply disappointed if he doesn't continue after he leaves Congress.
