What is Ron Planning?

Ron says that we need to keep fighting because he will have new plans revealed when the time is right.

I was a precinct leader in Maine, and I was canvassing for lots of houses, but I didn't skip the democrat houses on the list because I knew I needed to give Dr. Paul name recognition for when he runs Independent. But...I think he's being serious this time about not running 3rd party. What's next? How can he do anything from his Texas seat? Can he be an activist like Robert Kennedy Jr.? It's hard to tell.

This reminds me of 2004 when Kerry conceded. Jon Stewart from The Daily Show played a clip of Kerry saying, "We will keep fighting, and we will never ever give up."

Then Jon said, "and with that, he gave up."

(do I sound depressed?) :(

Honestly, I'm a little pissed off with the latest announcement. He's got millions upon millions that has still gone unspent, and now he is basically pulling out and concentrating more on Congress. I didn't donate money so he could retain his Congressional seat, I gave him money so he could promote his campaign for presidency. The Paul campaign can now do whatever they wish with all this cash, meaning they could put it all into the Texas Congressional race if they want. There are no campaign finance which say you must spend this money on just the presidential campaign.

And it's not like this decision was spur of the moment. Apparently, they hadn't been planning events around the country for awhile, and supposedly the only event scheduled after Super Tues. was a rally in Texas for re-election to Congress.

No third party run is BS in my opinion. The guy's got tons of support, and could draw an even larger crowd than he does now, especially if two war hawks like McCain and Hillary get the nominations. I just don't get it.

keep in mind guys, his congressional seat is under HEAVY BRUTAL attack right now. to be fair, he has to pay some attention to it.

He's not pulling out. He's making clear he needs to win re-election to Congress. And he's pledging to go all the way to the Convention.

All he did, was rule out a 3rd Party run.

Dr. Paul is old enough to understand (even if WE don't) that 7 months is an ETERNITY in politics, and ANYTHING can happen.

Keep working. Keep working. Keep working.

I am mad too. I am on the verge of requesting a refund, which I should get. He is not going to be my congressman, so I will not give money for that. I am so mad right now. Unless this Bourse situation really does what some are expecting, then his run is done. I am not one to give up so easily, but...hell....ron has.

Don't think that he's sitting on millions. It's mostly all been spent. Hard to imagine but true.

I still have reason to trust Ron to continue fighting, and getting him reelected to Congress is actually very important. I think his new book is indication that he's building up his warchest for something else.

10 terms in Congress defending your rights against all others and he's not your Congressman? He's my Congressman way more than the guy actually over my district.

I don't even want to bring this up, but I just read this on wonkette.com's coverage of RP's announcement:

"Ron Paul is a genius. He amassed a war chest of 30 million dollars, spent almost none of it, and now goes back to Congress. He can use that campaign money to guarantee his reelection to the House for the rest of his life, or probably even get himself a Senate seat. Genius, I tell you. 99% of those people would not have donated a single Amero to help he retain his seat in Congress or for a Senate run and he knew it. Now he's flush and sitting pretty."

This couldn't be true- could it?:confused:

Keep your spirits up people. In reality we have no idea how many delegates we have. I know in Colorado, Romney got credit for all the delegates, but we are not pledged. We can vote for whomever we wish. All we gotta do is get to the state convention. Keep the faith and fight on! The Revolution wasn't won overnight.

I agree. These whiners need to request their refunds, spare us, and just leave. Ron's latest e-mail was simply a realization that the likelihood of him getting the GOP nomination was slim so he is shifting temporary focus to his congressional campaign in an attempt to secure it. This temporary shift is totally logical and we need to fund his congressional campaign first before resuming funding his presidential effort. As far as those "supporters" whining about insisting that he only get funds from his district for his congressional campaign, etc., just leave as the truly committed supporters of Ron understand that his service to our country has been tremendously beneficial to ALL of us over the decades. We know all of the specious arguments already so please spare us.

...... funny how the people who are all mad and wanting refunds, etc.. all have less than 50 posts and joined in Jan. hmm..

The money from this race can't be used for his congressional race - otherwise Ron Paul would not have e-mailed and asked for us to donate to both causes.

I went to my local county GOP meeting and heard two people who are running for office give speeches in support of the constitution, returning rights to the people that have been taken, and one outright said he leaned libertarian. Both were very well received. For that alone I think progress has been made and money has not been wasted.

I think the important thing isn't what is Ron Paul planning, but what are WE planning? How are we going to build infrastructure to combat the mainstream media? They fixed this election. They should not be allowed to do it again.

Thank you, this makes sense.

.. . and don't believe a thing you read on wonkette. It's as credible as the National Enquirer.

He doesn't have a war chest. Last I saw reported he was down to about $8 million. And that was before advertising for Super Tuesday.

Did you read the last paragraph from Dan on Daily Dose?
Ron Paul is not going to surrender, and John McCain will not take the Republican nomination without the fight of his life. Your donations and work as Precinct Leaders are needed now more than ever. Thank you all for everything you’ve done so far — the revolution has just begun.

Can you hear Ron now?

I get that you're mad, but I think it seems kind of selfish to expect Ron Paul not to think realistically about his chances of winning the White House. I think if we can't win the White House, then he still needs to be in Congress fighting to keep the message alive. It also keeps him in a position to lead any Ron Paul Republicans that happen to be elected.
