wonkette.com's coverage does not make any since. Ron Paul would have had no way of knowing he would earn so much money when we started running...as the article suggests

He may not be "my" congressman, but if he looses his seat then who is our voice? I would love to see him be able to bring some of his donations to defend his seat! I have already donated a couple times for his congress run Let's keep this spirit alive. (Oh and I was sadden by the email, too.)

It is against the law to use funds donated for one campaign on a different campaign... RP cannot use his presidential campaign funds for his congressional run or a run for the senate.
Then, there is the issue for running for senate... he is not a candidate... or does the meaning of this have to be spelled out as well. Stop getting your information from the WONKedBitches or from WickedPedia... use some authoritative sources.

He can if he drops out.
I think he's doing the right thing. All of the candidates will be taking a short 'break' from all the campaigning that led up to Super Tuesday. During this time he'll put some focus on his congressional seat to still be a voice for 'We the People' while remaining in the race. He's just being honest and upfront about his plans rather than leave his supporters in the dark and/or mislead. He's budgeting wisely with the campaign money - unlike Giuliani, Huckabee, McCain, Thompson etc.. who when broke.
I think the way he's handling his campaign shows a good pattern of a leader in how to manage finances. If we had a president like this decades ago this country wouldn't be in financial ruin. Paul has proven he won't lead to financial ruin, unlike the others that are broke. I think he's smart to lay low right now and let Huckabee fall out.
As far as the third party run, personally I don't think it's a good idea for him to do. He's always said - he's the only real conservative republican and the party has lost it's way - he's showing the party just that, that they need to go back to the original platform. If he went to 3rd party he's be making a mockery of his own words.

There's a slim chance of a brokered convention. Ron is not going to drop out of the Pres race and make it easy on McCain. He will continue to campaign where he can for the Presidency and still needs the grassroots in those states that have not voted yet to canvass, become precint captains... CONTINUE THE FIGHT!!!
However, due to my first sentance, he needs to keep his congressional seat. So he's fighting two battles at once, and the smaller (congressional) battle should be easier to secure if we all support him and CONTINUE THE FIGHT!!!

The "Incumbent Protection Act" , I'm sorry, McCain-Feingold Act, will keep Ron in his seat for the rest of his life. For an Incumbent to loose a seat, he either needs to be going up against the likes of Mitt Romney, or he has to have been caught in some horendous scandal. Ron has for decades had a national fundraising campaign. He attracts thousands of big donors from outside his district. No one outside of friendswood, TX has heard of Chris Peden. Chris Peden does not appear to be independently wealthy.
Ron Has FREE (taxpayer funded) mailing to all of his constituents. This puts an incumbent at a huge advantage over any challenger. He also can use state equipment to make his commercials, challengers can not. Read Eric O'Keefe's "Who Rules America" and you will see how difficult it is for a congressman or senator to loose a seat. I do not think this is good, I am a strong believer in Term Limits and a rotating Legislature. I am jsut saying that in this race, the cards are well stacked in Ron's favor.

He successfully raises over $1 million each race. This quarter he has raised $200,000, and it isn't even half way over.

Every congressman, is everyones congressman, they ote and introduce legislature that effect the NATION.
The congress man of every district in every state is just as important to me and you as of the people in that district.

Huckabee is straight crazy as well.
This gives Paul supporters time to double or even triple our numbers!
Hillary and Obama both have issues as well - they're all NWO CFR members after all.
Paul can and should lay low, cut back expenses, lock in his seat in Congress and get ready for a media blitzkreig the moment McCain is exposed. That will happen in the next few months.
in the meantime:

2) keep building up the war chest!
