120 isn't very impressive. I'd guess Ford is the only Pres below 120, at least the only one in the last century. (I'd say most of the recent guys are in the low 120s, though.) And I'd put Nixon higher than that chart did. He was a crafty motherfucker, probably the smartest in the last 50 or 100 years.

Only a small percentage of people who qualify for Mensa bother to join. It seems like something for losers, lonely people and people who barely make the cutoff and are extremely impressed with themselves for doing so. Mensa's website claims 50k members in the US -- that's out of more than 6 million who would qualify as the top two percent. And frankly, even that 50k number seems rather high to me.

Theres the dunning-kruger effect in action here there are two types of Donald Trump supporters those who hear what he wants them to hear and those who see how he commands people with his language and his master salesmanship that they admire him and think that means Trump is smart instead of lots of people not understanding that trump is babbling and not making any sense and no one is correcting him because then trump uses the media and his army of idiots straight out of the movie idiocracy to attack anyone who criticizes him. For me its almost like he is speaking a different language that people understand but they don't know they understand.

Maybe since Trump is basically an ad or maybe he is a cross between a Nigerian scammer and an infomercial? Either way we should be able to deploy email spam filtering technology to block him from the internet I know some of you might try to argue 1st amendment..we need to get one of those change/white house petitions up right away on this.

Of all the people running for President, only he and Fiorina really understand what a billion dollars is. To the rest, it's just numbers on paper.

I be tested as super genius, and trump IQ is yuge compared to mine, he likely made 99.9% on his IQ test, and gets a discount on his car insurance. His daughter is attractive you can't be stupid and make hot chicks. DUH!!!, takes a high IQ to make good sperms. Facts.

I have no idea what Donald Trump's IQ is, tbh. Maybe his dad called in a favor for him to get into Wharton and he never had the high SAT scores, but there is also a chance he deserved to get in and got good grades, etc.

He doesn't strike me as being very intelligent, I think Rand is probably smarter. I put Trump in the 126-149 range, but I'll bet Rand is in there somewhere as well.

But there are people who think he is in the stratosphere in the 150s.. I'm skeptical but who knows.

I agree, anyone from a very rich family can skip a college's typical entrance requirements. Unless he shows a moderated IQ test who's to know.

It's obvious he's very talented in PR. He's worked hard with his tv shows, the public thinking he's some great businessman when he would have done far better if he just put his money in the stock market.

Here's the one thing IQ tests do show... 100 is the average IQ. 80 used to be called 'retarded'. That's one reason someone with the perception of being smart and for the average joe is doing so well.

Being intelligent is no bellwether for advocating freedom. Most of the geniuses in this world have been statists and many have been the worst kind of tyrants.

I disagree - Mensa's 50k doesn't surprise me. I joined as a lark, figured it'd pad the college applications. There are a surprising amount of groups for any sorts of hobbies and interests. Pre-internet it was very easy to find people with the same interests or at least that are interesting. Nowadays it's still a way to have some pre-made hobby groups about almost any topic. There are local, regional and national gatherings. It's not snobbery, no different than going to any other group for things you enjoy. One thing I've found there is no one size fits all to describe someone in Mensa. Just like these forums, everyone is different yet most of the time it's easy enough to find something interesting to discuss.

It's not surprising there aren't more members. Most people don't take "real" IQ tests. I got in with an SAT test when that was allowed. I doubt I would have sat for a moderated IQ to try to get into Mensa. I don't like disappointment and would have been embarrassed if I failed to get in. Once you're in it's cheap membership.

Sorry, it's late and I just got back to Japan so I haven't read all the responses. What, exactly, was Trump's SAT score? Before they "recalibrated" the SAT, you needed 1300 to join Mensa. You can't really give an IQ score from that, since every IQ test has a different standard deviation. Also, some are close ended (can't get above a certain score, like 150 on the Wechsler) and some are open ended (like the one Marilyn vos Savant took and scored over 200). Here is an example of a "handy-dandy" IQ score converter:

And scientists with a knack for extorting tax money from a crooked government by using a fake apocalypse (climate change) have low IQs because of having a similar killer instinct? This is not a logical argument, and it does not immediately follow that all hucksters possess low intelligence. Smart people do unethical things all the time, it's actually part of the reason why this country has a massive problem with 4th Amendment violations via the surveillance state, you don't pull this off without smart, tech-savvy people willing to sell their souls for a career and a pension.

The Donald is where he is because of daddy's money. He went bankrupt twice and was pulled out because of daddy. He is now where he is because of daddy's bucks.

Trump's lack of intelligence gets scorched by Rolling Stone after the utter incoherence at the last debate
(which polling says he did well at - even won !)

This was Trump's response:
"Well, first of all, I think we need somebody absolutely that we can trust, who is totally responsible, who really knows what he or she is doing. That is so powerful and so important."
. . .

But his answer Tuesday night was especially terrifying;
it revealed what it means to put an ignorant blowhard with a head full of jagged rocks in charge of enough munitions to blow up the entire world several times over.

Neg repped from RonPaulGeorge&Ringo who says this is "misinformation".

Why don't you have a discussion and refute this instead of the childish neg- repping?

Trump is the king of misinformation.

And here's more of the Trump Daddy story:

Turns out that $1 million loan Donald Trump got from his daddy so he could pull himself up by his bootstraps was just the tip of the iceberg, reports Andrew Kacyunski.

In December of 1990, a lawyer for Fred Trump walked into Trump Castle in Atlantic city and, according to reports at the time, deposited a check with the casino for $3.36 million in exchange for chips. Instead of using the chips to play in the casino, the lawyer left.

The result: an interest free loan to Trump from “Daddy-O.”

The same day that Fred Trump made his chip purchase, The Donald stunned the gaming world and his creditors by making a scheduled bond payment.

“The payment gave the younger Trump enough cash to make an $18.4 million payment due bondholders in the casino and surprised analysts who said it appeared Trump lacked enough money to make the payment,” read the Associated Press account from the time.

So daddy Trump bailed out The Donald when he couldn't make his payments. Isn't it a miracle how much money you can "make" when your father's a millionaire? It's like the stuff just rains down upon you.

The loan scheme was ultimately found to be illegal, btw, and Trump kept the money but had to pay a $30,000 fine. That's a pretty good return on investment for breaking the law. Oh, and then this happened:

Fred Trump would make further payments to his son, and Donald Trump ultimately settled his debts.
