What do you guys think of my political platform?

The funny thing is that some of these same people who want to enforce cultural conformity think its tyrannical to enforce religious conformity. Shows what their real god is...

That is another good point underlying my questions. It seems as obvious as anything could be to me that culture and religion are inseparable. Allowing the regime to regulate them inevitably means perverting them into a religion of pro-regime propaganda.

Some of us believe that the Living God is superior to every idol, and in the absence of any enforced conformity, He will inevitably come out on top....however the advocacy of enforced conformity demonstrates a clear lack of faith in God, whereupon like He departed the Temple in Jerusalem, so also will He depart from us. I oppose all enforced religious and cultural conformity, specifically because I know that's how in faith God will obtain His rightful place in our nation. The more you attempt to enforce conformity, the more the heathen will reign. You can take that to the bank.

Stop using this as an argument. This is just more argument why this "woman" should be executed by the State.

Sorry, but nope. This country is English-speaking. If you don't choose to speak that language, good for you. But, you are going to have a difficult time communicating with the vast majority of Americans. And if you don't desire to speak the language, or ensure that your children do, then you shouldn't have come to this country. Because clearly, you have no interest in assimilating.

Yep. I do not care what you do in your own home. And I do not care if business wants to serve people who speak other languages. But if you want to apply for citizenship you should be required to at least read English.

What about me? Suppose I'm not interested in assimilating to whatever it is you are? What should happen to me then?

And how do you go about legally defining your preferred culture so as to figure out when somebody is or is not assimilating to it?

I was raised eating my Sunday dinner in the early afternoon. A lot of other people I know eat it later like every other day. Which one of those is the way you want all of America to assimilate to?

Nobody cares what you do in your own home. But if you decide to open a restaurant that serves dinner in the early afternoon, you should need to know enough English to either fill out the paperwork the federal government requires you to fill out or be rich enough to hire your own damned translator.

Why the hell should a restaurant have to file paperwork for the federal government??

Is the word "restaurant" even in the Constitution?

You certainly know that no theonomist supports that :) I also did avoid getting into all the nuances of my position in a brief post. But while culture cannot be sparated from religion, I think religion can be separated from culture because Christendom is trans-cultura.

Its not that I lack faith in God. Did Asa or David or Josiah or Hezekiah lack faith in God? I disagree with you on the basis of the Old Testament.

You're a wicked heathen who chooses to "rebut" me not by presenting an argument but by posting a blasphemous image of My Savior, a pathetic carved image purpotting to be God. What evil! Bryan, are these the types of people you want "modding" here? Where is your consistency with "respecting each other's religion or lack thereof"? More proof that neutrality is impossible.

Gotta love that pro-life consistency.

Its not inconsistent to say innocent babies should live but wicked murderesses should die.

No, but it's in the DoI:

He has sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our Innkeepers, and eat out their substance, and without exception, dine and dash

Well, this is some welcoming party, isn't it? Can there at least be something libertarian going on here, like some heroin or something?

I generally don't waste my time rebutting idiocy, especially that which finishes a post with such an insane statement.

Besides, you wouldn't respect what a wicked heathen had to say anyway - :)

Where is the consistency indeed? Clearly some of you cannot keep the religion talk confined to its own sub forum (you've been asked not to drag your religious arguments out to the rest of the board time and time again.) When you open a can of worms, you have to deal with the consequences. Nirvikalpa's image of Jesus doesn't bother most of us here at all. Keep the religious talk out of here, then there will be no need for things that offend you.

Obviously a lot of people here do care what I do in my own home, since they want the government to require that all of us assimilate to their culture.

The federal government has no right to require me to fill out any paperwork at all. The languages and cultures that get expressed in my restaurant are between me and my customers. If other people don't like those cultures or languages they should just not come to my restaurant. They don't have the right to ban me from the country or require me to assimilate to their language and culture.

The majority of immigrants to the US since the founding of this country have been non-English speakers.

Even whole states have been accepted into the union without being predominantly English speaking.
