I don't. Saves me thousands of dollars a year. I live easy walking distance to work and stores and use a bicycle for most trips- even going to the airport (living in a nice climate makes that easier too). (No I am not a college student living at home either). But that is a nice looking truck.

A 2002 Chevy Blazer - 5 spd stick - no power windows. 55000 miles so it will be a while before I get a new one. Before this I had a highly modified sports car that was a money pit...hence the scale down.

2002 Jeep TJ 4cyl. 5 speed. Bought Feb.02 new. Just turned 60,000 miles. Also a 73 Super Beetle for back-up. My wife drives a 96 Ford Van.

My wife's toyota Rav4. We've been sharing that and saving money for about 3 years now. Previously I was driving my '59 Willys. The Willys will be sold down the road hopefully before the new year. Then it's a 'farm jeep cj' driven around the property for me -maybe on road occasionally. I'll attempt a thread for the 'farm jeep' build. I've got the vehicles for the 'farm jeep' project, just have to move the Willys to get started.

Everyone probably knows what a Rav4 is. So here ya go (looks good from afar-it's maybe about 60%-plenty good metal but needs work) :

My first car in college was a 1960 Rambler- white, red interrior, little fins on the back. Straight Six engine. Litterally belonged to a little old lady who only drove it to church on Sundays (had only 28,000 miles on it and never even had a radio in it- the spot was still covered by the factory plate). Lived next to my Grandmother. Got it for about $100.

Just under 40mpg.

My two wheeler doesn't do any better than that. It looks like a fun little get around, but I don't know about merging onto the freeway between a couple of semi's.
