What do the results mean?

There are a hundred media headlines to one downplaying the CPAC results. My conclusion is still the same as before, there is a consorted effort to destroy every part of the nomination process from the inside out.

Booing and yelling when BUSH showed up at a conservative conference made us look like some crazy Ben Franklin looking guys who shit their pants and yell America. We need to stop fighting these other campaigns.

We need to win this by winning the argument, not by throwing mud. All it does is make us not look serious, shun people away give steam to their idealson. Their plan is to make the republican party look like shit, BUSH is planning on tanking the primary and then they are going to run 'independent" to pull votes no matter what this will be a battle on two fronts, 2016 will be another Ross Perot and his name is BUSH.

That's not what the headlines say. This needs to be a united front. We need Rand to run, and he is not his father. He will not run if he doesn't have a chance to win, and he will not run to educate. He will not run just to grow the republican party. He will only run if he can win this, and the underlying fact is Rand can unite the party he was the most favorable second choice as well so without walker he would be taking the full force of the media right now.

It means Paul has good support among grassroots activists. I think he still needs to shore up your typical Republican primary voter though. They tend to be older.

I will say, though, that an early surge of Walker might be favorable for us. If 2012 is anything to go by, the sooner they surge, the sooner they fall. However, that does open up a possibility for another surge around Iowa and NH. Hopefully it'll be someone with low electability, since I think Republicans are slooowly, slowly, starting to move away from big government "social conservatives"; at least from candidates with that rhetoric.

Booing and walking out on Bush wasn't a smart move. If Rand wins the nomination he may need those who prefer Jeb now and you can be sure they will remember this.

Booing and walking out on Bush wasn't a smart move. If Rand wins the nomination he may need those who prefer Jeb now and you can be sure they will remember this.

I was there only for Saturday and some of the people in attendance feel that Rand has Libertarian groupies that will not vote for anyone else and his supporters are loud/rude. We can work on this as I understand YAL brought in some excited young people who bring in a passion that can be perceived negatively at times.

My fears exactly. Rand has to position himself as the anti Bush candidate and in doing so he and the grassroots need to be careful in dealing with Scott Walker since apparently he's the guy for the anyway they're going to use to try and push into that roll. Just as they did Santorum as the anti Romney candidate. If Rand can lock up this position with the support he already has, it's game over and I believe they know this.. So their strategy will be to deny Rand as the anti Bush/establishment candidate. So Rand and the grassroots don't wanna piss off to many Walker fans so they don't end up voting for Bush outta spite. I'm sure team Bush already has a strategy mapped out for this even using "fake" Rand supporters to do something stupid.

Walker still isn't someone I would consider a completely establishment candidate. They aren't comfortable with him, but will obviously use him strategically to knock off Paul.
