What are You Reading Right Now?

Why don't you package yourself with the books? :-) I am actually looking for a volunteer "development" director to work with us as we get started? Any interest?

yup. i'm working overtime (and spending too much time here) trying to prep. for the mrs.' fall tuition atm, but i would absolutely be interested in working with you.

Re-reading my number one novel The Caine Mutiny.

Read a stinker a couple weeks back: Nights in Rodanthe.

A story of disconnected, disaffected, self-absorbed yuppies revolving around a "love at first sight", one night stand at a Rodanthe, North Carolina, seafront inn.

Blechh.

I am reading "The 13th Tribe" which is a history of the Khazars and Pat Buchanan's "Where the Right Went Wrong." Tones

re-reading Animal Farm also started The Politically Incorrect Guide to American History yesterday

Ooh, nice!!!

I have the audiobook of Animal Farm. Amazing how such a brief story (2 1/2 hours on CD) can hammer home such a brilliant message so effectively, and still not let on to most readers that it's a morality tale until about halfway through!

Highly recommended, if you're into the P.I.G. series, is the Politically Incorrect Guide to Capitalism. That's the only economics book I've ever read that has explained complicated economic theories in terms as lucid and uncomplicated as if it were a children's phonics primer.

Animal Farm seems quite popular. I'm not reading anything right now but I am halfway through watching Animal Farm on Google today:

The Rise of the Fourth Reich
The Secret Societies That Threaten to Take Over America
By Jim Marrs

:D

Ohhhhhh.....I want. I want. Marrs has a new book out (June 1st) that looks VERY interesting also. Damn..I just noticed it was already out of stock

Mysterious Monuments: Encyclopedia of Secret Illuminati Designs, Masonic Architecture, and Occult Places

http://www.amazon.com/Mysterious-Mo...d_bbs_4?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1216177276&sr=8-4

We should all be doing a book exchange :)

I find a lot of books on amazon..used and ebay. I got pat buchanans' books on amazon used for 1.73 plus 3.99 shipping. tones

Does it do the book justice?

I haven't read the book but from what I understand of the book, the movie does get the message out in a Dr. Doolittle kind of way. If a person didn't catch on to the message Orwell was sending, it would probably seem rather silly with talking animals and all.

In the politics genre: I'm on the last chapter of "The Conscience of a Conservative" by Barry Goldwater. I can't believe I'm JUST NOW getting around to it, but anyway.

A non-political book I recently read for work: "Spunk and Bite: A writer's guide to punchier, more engaging language & style." Good if you wanna put some pizzazz in your writing.

Practical Anarchy, the second in a three part series on anarchy, by Stefan Molyneux, its excellent (www.freedomainradio.com/free/). Next I will probably pick up a Rothbard book, maybe Man, Economy, and State. I plan to read all of his books eventually.

just finished up "What has the government done to or money? And the Case for 100% Gold Dollar".

Very very good--if anyone is the least bit skeptical of a gold-standard currency, then that will alleviate your fears.

I'll probably start on "The Revolution: A Manifesto" Next...then order a few more of Rothbard's books (eventually I'll order+read "Human Action"...I plan on reading all of Rothbard and Mises' books eventually...from there it'll be a number of random Austrian economics books).

Just finished up reading:

Inside the SPAM Cartel: Trade Secrets From the Dark Side
by Spammer X
