Ego Death.
Oftentimes ape-pride gets in the way of seeing the fuller existential picture.
Of course, from our own perspective, it can only properly be the case the we must each regard ourselves as the Ultimate: in the sense that we can only experience reality streaming from our own sensory inputs and from our own mentality which processes those sensory inputs. Even if we do grant that there is God, or higher intelligences beyond our reckoning, still it must be the case that we can only experience any of such matters from our own standpoint.
And that is completely appropriate. No higher god above you would ever dare knock you for such a standpoint, because it is simply logical.
But a true egotist, who knows the lay of the land, must also grant that for others. And a true egotist--by which I mean, one who recognizes that their own life is of worth, and is important to total existence (I hope this means you, also, in the fullness of time)--would trouble themselves to raise up others, so that this egotist may have a more perfect vision unto themselves. Even unto death, if required.
Why? Because any true egotist considers it a blight upon their conscious to see people horrifically lied-to and abused. It is beneath them to see Hell within their viewport. And they have no choice but to look, in order to survey their realm. Rather, they wish to stand as a god among other gods: not one above the other, but instead existential siblings unto God Almighty. Nothing less than the best for such a one!
