Maybe this is just a function of youtubism or maybe the start of a more lasting and positive trend:

Artists like this are not "covering" a great composition from over 50 years ago now, they are "performing" it, exactly as the original writers and musicians and arrangers intended it to be...or as the Vienna Philharmonic performs Mozart.
