What are some good "positive thinking" book recommendations?

Ignorance is piss.

When those people lost their homes because they don't understand the business cycle... I'm not sure if they'll agree to the notion, they'd prefer ignorance than the truth.. which would have resulted in them not having to now live in a tent.

I have seen people go through their lives without knowing a thing about the outside world and they are completely fine with it. The second they learn even 1/10000th of the truth, they run, hide, and try to make the world like it was before they knew "everything."

Thanks for all of the awesome suggestions! I'm sure once I get through the list, I'll be singing "Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay. My, oh my, what a wonderful day!"

“The order of nature is that individual happiness shall be inseparable from the practice of virtue.”~ Thomas Jefferson

Natural law folks.... ;)

Aristotle's Ethics is also great on this.. difference between happiness and pleasure etc.

“The secret of happiness is freedom. The secret of freedom is courage.” ~ Thucydides

“There is only one way to happiness and that is to cease worrying about things which are beyond the power of our will.” ~ Epictetus

This is not a book: http://www.voluntaryist.com/articles/070.php

I don't see how anyone could be happy being a political activist. Your success becomes dependent on the world around you. You could be the best debater yet some people will be stubborn and completely be satisfied with false logic.

I choose to be apolitical. I act as a freeman. The state may try to stop me and they may even be successful at stopping me, but I would rather try to be free myself than try to change everything around me.

There's a 99.9999% that you will never live in a libertarian society. Accept that and make the best of it.

On happiness, you have to learn to be happy. Learn what makes you happy and make sure what makes you happy doesn't make you outcome dependent. ...Like if you are happy only if Ron Paul is elected as president, then chances are you will not be happy. Don't set yourself up for disappointment. For me, I have found simply talking with people gives me the most happiness.

A great BOOK that will teach you about psychology and happiness is "Frogs into Princes" by Richard Bandler. It will also teach you how to communicate. There's a torrent out there. :)

One more really good book....

Og Mandino's The Greatest Salesman in the World will stick with you!

The lessons of Scripture, the Bible, are priceless to me.

Singing helps, too!! You're right, there. :)
