"We're setting the dogs on your car!" What's the proper response in this case?

When I was pulled over I did nothing. First they said my passenger (ex-wife) wasn't wearing a safety belt. She was. Always did. When she showed him the strap across here chest he back stepped and said I crossed over the line. I didn't. Excuses are as easy by. Could have just as easily said I was speeding. I wasn't.

I've been on a grand jury several times and more than once, an LEO who came into witness on a bill admitted if they have someone who they think is suspicious, they will follow them around until they do something, even minor. One of the most common causes they said was pulling too far forward at a stop sign or light. If you cross that line (even by a fraction) they have an excuse to pull you over. Of course, in a grand jury, they made it sound like they were heroes doing this to keep scum off the street.

Side note about the guy that searched me...he never disarmed me, or seemed to either not care or forget I was armed. When we(USCG) found out there were weapons on board, the weapons were separated from the ammunition until the completion of the boarding, then you got them back and all we asked is that you not load it until we were off scene. Depending on circumstances, it was my call whether or not to do that, and to be honest I usually didn't when I was the Boarding Officer, unlike land cops, we were not taught to be scared of everyone with a gun.

"Illegal" lane change enables violation of rights if subject is ignorant. Are you, or are you not, ok w/ that?
Gee, I guess the entire World is being pulled over for lane change violations, just because the whole World is suspicious, or cops are all corrupt and filling quotas ... I wonder which it is

All of the above, are you not paying attention?

You should consider moving to an Island :D
Your reasoning behind this statement( I know you don't have one that is anything remotely logical or to do with anything I've said in this thread, but I am curious nonetheless)?

There is no reasoning with those who are committed to a fictitious cause ;)

Where did I ask you to reason with me...I asked what your reasoning was, as clearly stated in my comment. Responding like that tells me that you're either:

a. 12 yrs old
b. 15 yrs old

And what is this fictitious cause you speak of? I have no causes....

Just relax and mention that if their dogs pee on your car or scratch it you will gladly sue for damages. Other than that say nothing.

I have refused a search. They detained me and a friend in the back of a cop car in cuffs until the k-9 arrived.
K-9 "got a hit", they searched my car, they found nothing. This took over an hour.
It was not fun sitting for an hour on hard plastic seats in handcuffs in complete silence as we were being recorded the entire time.
They then wrote me a ticket for the window tint and sent me on my way.
Tint which was stickered legal and I had paperwork for, which I won the ticket fight in court..

So, if they want to detain you while they wait for K-9, then search your car, then write you a ticket for something that you didn't do wrong...
The answer is yes they can...

The best thing to do is just cooperate. If you piss off the cops they will find BS reasons or make stuff up to bring you in to jail. The charges might be dropped with no proof on their part, but you will still be out of thousands of dollars to defend yourself and probably out of a job unless your employer likes you missing 2 weeks of work because you're in jail. It's not worth the struggle. Just comply.

I think the best way is to just be neutral. Don't say anything. Don't do anything. If they arrest you for doing nothing, then I'm pretty certain you will get off without any trouble, and you won't have to defend yourself. Even if you do, you can exercise the same rights by taking the stand and being completely silent, or just not taking the stand. No lawyer needed.
