Welcome Former Bachmann Supporters!

Ahhh more good points. This is tough, I just have a lot of ruminating to do. I guess its because I live with a lot of what people here would term neocons. If I said I didn't support current mainstream republican foreign policy, I almost feel like my friends and family would be disappointed in me. Probably because its often liberals who are the loudest in opposition to the war on terror and the Patriot Act and stuff like that. I'l have to think about all this.

And yes, I would consider myself a very traditional, conservative Christian (Catholic specifically).

Hey, welcome "consideringrp"!! Glad to see another Catholic around here!! I have found someone named Thomas Woods to be quite in line with my thinking(he's also Catholic). He is a speaker, writer, educator, among other things but you may find him interesting. Here is a couple articles I found in regards to Catholicism and Ron Paul and one more on Catholic social teaching.

The Constitution does state that congress shall declare war and you should definitely know this if you had ever read it. Additionally, breaking links is much easier.

Yep, procedural functions. There is nothing that says Congress can not declare war without being attacked or in case of imminent threat. That is why it is important to elect the right people like Ron Paul.

Breaking links?? Oh...thanks for the reminder in that thread. I broke it as soon as I saw your comment.

I may be in the minority here but I'm sad to see Michelle's campaign implode. Of all the neocon options, she at least was kind of interesting. And if Ron Paul couldn't make it, wanted to see her make it. I really liked a few of her house speeches and I think she's only saying she wants to attack Iran mostly because she has to convince people who have trouble believing a woman can be commander and chief.

don't feed the ignorant statements. let them go the way of the dinosaur.

I actually liked Michelle earlier on. She was very supportive of Dr. Paul and invited him to speak with her on several occasions. Now I'm not exactly sure what is going on, I mean she almost seems to hate him! I know that Ron Paul would never have treated her like this, especially accusing her campaign of buying off key campaign members! I mean do people fully realize what she just did? She just betrayed pretty badly and also threw two people who worked on her campaign for nearly a year under the bus. At this point I don't even know what to say about her, that was really cold.

Hahah thanks mosquito bite, its good to know I'm not annoying the crap out of everyone here, because I know this is a forum for Ron Paul supporters. And i haven't gotten much bs, only a little, but its alright.

I think the majority will not be annoyed by you. I will warn you, we have about a dozen of long time forum members who I believe have a dead set goal of sabotaging Ron Paul's campaign by their actions. Do they know they are doing it? Probably not. They're just brain dead.

I too am a little sad about Bachmann. Out of all the others besides Paul, I could have lived with her as our president. Just not sure how much she would do about the FED though.

I am a free market economic. Reading Ron Pauls economic articles for years. Mises.org is my fav. site. Very Libratarian, athiest. I think the one thing that RP brings is his economics. I don't think most people understand his Austrian stance and its depth. It is soo clearly the only way to go. Abolish the FED, and return sound money. Dismantle the social systems. All done in slow steps to keep shock out the system. But we definately need to move in this direction.

Same with me but she has willfully chosen to bare false witness against the most respected member of Congress plus at least one of her former aides. No honor, no integrity. Time for her to go back to her niche, that of a tax attorney.

If there are any Bachmann supporters coming over to Paul's side I wanted to say a few quick things. I'm a big fan of curiosity and learning. Being told what to believe isn't really in human nature, more of a laziness issue with the audience. As much as I want to tell you to vote for Ron Paul and support him, I can't consciously live with that. I want you to inform yourself on the issues and actually listen to his messages. Check out the videos, read threads in the forums, ask questions.... make the decision for yourself that Ron Paul will be your next President. It might not happen overnight because I can attest it took me a few years, but one day you'll wake up and it just might click.

Yes it certainly does, and I love liberty just as much (if not more so) than many on here (One of my all time heroes and person I'm using for my senior quote is Patrick Henry, the guy who thought the Constitution was too progressive). There's just some things I don't like to consider liberating that some of the RP guys do. Idk, call me inconsistent but whatever.

if you limit freedom it isn't freedom -- it becomes certain people in power enforcing their views on the rest. even if you happen to agree with whoever is leading at the time, you are no longer free... which becomes obvious as soon as someone you don't agree with takes power.

Welcome!

It is imperative, that despite our differences, we stop Newt Romney from gaining the nomination. We cannot have a nominee that supports gun control, abortion rights, healthcare mandates, fairness doctrines, medicare part d, no child left behind, the department of education, the epa and global warming regulations, TARP, amnesty, NAFTA, etc.

What he said ^ and Welcome. :)

Well CRP lemme give your beliefs a little CPR. If you can tell us specifically what it is about Ron's foreign policy you have problems with, we may be able to show you why you should support his foreign policy. The more specific you can be, the easier this would be. :)

In the meantime, please take a look at this video made by Molotov Mitchell. He does a pretty good job of laying out Ron's foreign policy in layman terms.

To borrow Dr. Paul's words, "Liberty unites us; it does not divide us."

Welcome all who love liberty. :)

I think it's inaccurate to say Ron Paul blames the US for 9-11. If he did, then he wouldn't have offered the solution of a Letter of Mark and Reprisal to go after the perps (assuming one believes the official narrative). Instead I think it's more accurate to say he thinks US policy was a contributing factor. I wouldn't even concede the phrase partially blames to describe Paul's position on the culpability of the US, since he isn't proposing any punishment for the originators and executors of US policy, afaik.

Good points; and one thing I do respect about Ron's foreign is that its the foreign policy of the founders. Washington himself advised us not too get entangled in messy alliances and we became a great nation because of it. I just don't know though. The damn nuclear age.

I think it is because of the manufactured "fear" that the PTB have instilled in our people over the decades. They use that fear to make us compliant and accepting of our loss of freedom. It is a tool for them to control people and to steal as much of the fruits of our labor as they possibly can, and then they squander it and come back for still more from the people. I grew up when we had practice drills for bomb raids and had to crawl under our desks (as if that would save us). My own father was so convinced we could be bombed with the nuclear thingy that he actually spent hard earned money to build a useless bomb shelter. Imagine living with that kind of conviction and fear that was completely a falsehood and was never going to happen. So I grew up fearful until I learned to think for myself. Once I did it was liberating in itself, but since then I realize that we are not truly free at all. The greatest country and experiment in freedom was hijacked away from the people. And here we are today.
