Weigel Resigns!

No, he isn't fair. He drops in 'too bad about those racist newsletters' every chance he gets even when the topic is completely foreign to it, and he KNOWS they are nonsense.

Still better coverage than anyone else.

Now this is completely false. Who is "anyone else"? I just do NOT understand the "lets be grateful for the lesser evil" philosophy. IMO, its defeatist, and it makes us look as if we are BEGGARS. Anyway, those of you who know or are sympathetic to Weigel won't miss him for long, he'll be spewing his libtardedness in a more appropriate forum- HuffPo.

As far as replacing him with a neocon, I would rather have a neocon than a fake "Libertarian" that is non-partisan in his political establishment hackery.

Were not talking about a candidate here, you can't campaign another person to oust lousy reporters; the "lesser of two evils" argument is irrelevant. The fact is no one at Washington Post was as friendly to our cause, and now he is no longer there. Is it the worst thing that ever happened? No. But it isn't a good thing either.

Say Hi to Frum next time you visit the Soup Kitchen!

Weigel, who covered the conservative beat for the Washington Post, said in an e-mail to the liberal JournoList group that "this would be a vastly better world to live in if Matt Drudge decided to handle his emotional problems more responsibly, and set himself on fire."

Weigel apologized to his readers (and to Drudge), but now FishbowlDC has confirmed that Weigel resigned from the newspaper Friday morning.

It's open season on neocon nancy boys!

You'll never work again Wiezel.

That's what you get for being so anti-Christian and pro-Marxist Zionist.

Have fun starving in the bread line David, you sniveling little rat goy.

Ron Paul's cyber-assassins just cut off your scalp and sent it to Texas, gift-wrapped and ready for Dr. Paul's trophy room!

RWN PWLD ! ! !

JournoList (the nasty little neocon nancy boy clique) leader Ezra Klein had better watch his back, or he'll be next.

You aren't alone in that feeling:

There are a couple of real stories that are being missed in all the coverage of Dave and his various remarks that range from stupid to snarky to sensible, but in some cases badly stated, but the big one is this: The Left, whether as an army or an army of one, has a problem with Dave, and a big one at that. A lot of leaking has been done with the clear objective (I believe) of ruining Dave's career, and forcing his ouster by the Washington Post. I suspect it is happening because dave committed the cardinal sin of defending Rand Paul, a figure who has become so reviled by many on the Left that it's hard to draw a bright-line distinction between him and Saddam Hussein, by their standards (in fact, for some of them, I believe Saddam Hussein is held in less contempt). That's a bad place for Dave to be, but he got there because he had the courage of his convictions and defending a man who many on the Right consider almost indefensible-- and he did it at the Washington Post, not Reason Magazine.

I just don't think they people are after him for that reason at all. Glenn Greenwald even blogged about Weigel, pwning him over his "hug" comments, and his complete obsession about "exposing" the two kids who had the audacity to question a noble. HuffPo called him out as well, so it wasn't just the right, it was the left. Well, karma is a bitch, and now it is Weigel that has been "exposed". I am not feeling it for him, at all. He made his bed, now he must lie in it.

He will begin blogging for HuffPo, so we will see how he handles this fall out, and his writing will answer our questions.

Another thing, suppose that it wasn't some "right wing plant" that leaked the info, perhaps it was a left winger who was truly appalled by the Etheridge "hug".

Not to mention that if he ever 'defended Ron Paul' apart from the most superficial sense, I must have missed it.

However, I'd rather have him than the guy replacing him, and doubt I'll be reading the new column, sheerly from lack of interest in neocon viewpoints.
