It's a pointer to the other two events- thoughts?

If people support the idea WeekendOfLibery.com can post weekend events for every weekend to come (after Dec 16th). If we want we can post national events and/or local events. I guess it can be an kiosk of sorts.

What would be great would be a list of meetup (or other) sponsored events by city and a way to request yours added. This could also be used to help organize the national meetups and other grassroots participants. Seems to me we could build some momentum if the meetup groups all start seeing the ideas and motivation of the others.

Just my 2 cents.

True to my word, I've linked to it on OnDecember15th.com (RightsRally07 that is).

EDIT:

I'm almost finished with something like that on my site hw. :) I've been coordinating with my local meetup group and a few in the surrounding states.

I don't know how much effort is required to do that, but it sounds like an excellent idea.

Is there anything people can do to help get the word out to the meetup groups? I'd be happy to spend some time trying to get in touch with some. I don't want to take initiative though without knowing if I should.

:)

I've already contacted a few, but yes, ANYTHING that people can do to get the word out, simply pass along the address: http://ondecember15th.com and my email: [email protected]

Jordan, should I email you tomorrow and see if we can brainstorm some ideas? I'm sure we can get a ton of help from the forums here to get the word out. If we do, then we can mobilize the boots on the ground nationally. Not sure if we'll succeed but .. if we do...

If you don't have people helping you coordinate I'm in.

Excellent! Trevor, I want to coordinate with you as well. The last thing I want is a "war" between whose site is "official".

We need to get the word out! All meetup groups need to submit their ideas or come to the website to help brainstorm ideas.

Really?

sharing the same data between the two sites, and making it open (so anyone who wants to create a site for the event, would be ideal)

:(

Do you have to have been on CNN to build acceptable sites now? It was something I had been working on for the last week or so and he specifically asked about it.

If it's a big deal, you can run the list and serialize it in XML so i can duplicate it. It's just that last time I asked about sharing data with you, you basically gave me the finger.

Jordan, you either seem to like to use guilt (which is a form of psychological force) or you call me names (in another thread you said I need to stop acting like I'm so great, or something to that effect), or accuse me of doing things I've never done (now you accuse me of giving you the finger.. ?).

You make websites no one asked you to make and then you complain when I go ahead with plans that everyone here agreed on. You say you don't want to get in a war over which site is "official" and then you give people instructions to have people contact you rather than me... but you don't want to have conflict.. ????? How do we know we can trust you? By the way you approach things I personally don't trust you.. or maybe I should say I don't know what to think of you.

Why don't you just ask me how you can help with these efforts? Why do you try to say things to me that would be offensive (if I cared). The only reason I even respond to you is to try and stave off the division it seems you are bent on creating.

I just don't get it. If you really want to help please stop trying to start fights. Please contact me and ask what you can do. Work with me, not separate from me.

A drop of water on its own cannot accomplish much, but put all the drop of water together and you have the endless power of the oceans.

and btw- back when you originally started getting so upset about all this you said you'd redirect your site to mine when it was up. Why not just keep your promise and work with me rather than trying to divide things up?

Lets make a wave rather than a million little drops.

I don't understand the idea of making all these little sites. Each site someone builds needs to develop traffic. A site being up on it's own doesn't do anything without traffic. So all these people spend all this time making all these sites when all that energy could have been used to drive traffic to one site.

This concept of multiple sites doesn't make any sense. Yes, no one site will be perfect and yes people have to agree to be able to not agree on everything, but once this is done the power of the army is great.

Why re-create the wheel over and over and over? Look up "Divide and Conquer". It's a war tactic used to conquer your enemies. It's proven your army is easier to defeat in smaller components. All these sites are merely divisions that weaken us.

Can you imagine a football team where different players run different plays at the same time? It would be a disaster. But when everyone acts together, does their part and executes to their best ability, mountains can be moved.

Enough of the division!! Even if you don't agree with me on everything recognize that we will never all agree on everything and join the team.

Here I am starting a thread about WeekendOfLiberty.com and you start talking about an unrelated site.

Also, being true to your word means redirecting your site to RightsRally07.com- not just linking to it.

To me it's so obvious you are trying to (or are just inherently good at) creating division.

Alright, I'm done. This is way off either of the topics that have come up in this thread, and is completely irrelevent to the overall goal: electing Ron Paul.

The only reason this conversation happens here is because you refuse to answer PMs. :/

As I understood it, a plurality agreed we needed a site, not that we need a specific site. Which is also completely avoiding the fact that I originally started organizing the ondecember15th.com site for oregoniansforronpaul.com and branched it out later.

I haven't been calling you names Trevor, I've been saying that you need to listen to other more if you are going to be the annointed one. How many people wanted multiple levels of pledging for instance?

You've made yourself hard to access and difficult to reason with, and that is what I have been cautioning, not you as a person or you as a "leader" of sorts.

I kept my word on redirecting ondecember16th.com despite the fact that I still disagree with the one website idea. When I asked if I could simply add to your subscription list, you basically told me "redirect your site and shut up". How that is not a figurative finger, I don't know.

I also kept my word that I firmly beleive multiple sites for events on the 15th are an inherent good thing, and in keeping with that belief I've been linking to other sites off of the one I'm running, thus my claim of consistency and integrity.

But personal integrity mean jack for the goal, which is to help everyone campaign for RP effectively, and honestly I think we're accomplishing that goal in spite of any flaws you or me have.

Anyway, if you want to respond to me, do so in PM. I'm done posting here.

I don't remember getting a PM from you. That's a lie. I never told you to redirect and shut up. That's lie. People wanted things and others wanted the opposite and I've done my best to compromise on many levels over and over again. Additionally I have my own experiences I draw from. I've been doing websites and marketing on the net for probably about 10 years now. I can't always explain in full why I am adamant about some things and open about others. It takes too much time. Am I always right? No I'm sure I'm not. Is anyone always right? No.

I'm not for getting Ron Paul elected? That has to be a joke.

As far as what was decided.. when the ideas were kicking around in the beginning people asked me to take up the next site (yes I got hundreds of emails asking me "what's next?"), and when we threw around ideas I stated I wanted to use WeekendOfLIberty.com and RightsRally07.com. It's in the forums. In fact I was the one who pushed for both dates. I remember it specifically. Then later, for some unknown reason you come up with two sites copying both dates... dates I already had domains for. And even if it were done at the same time why wouldn't you consider that I would do the next round of sites as well? Why wouldn't you consider the press contacts that I can call on? These are all things that happened, they are what they are. I can't help what they are, but I'd be a fool not to use them to our advantage. Can you call the press and tell them about these sites and will they listen to you? Do you have the same track record to stand on? Like it or not, intentional or not I'm in a good position to help. I intend to do that. I'm not about to bow down to what to me seems like greed and jealousy. We don't have time for that. We have one shot to get this right. I'm in this position whether I'm the best person to be in it or not. It's not about me, it's about making the most of the situation.

You've called me names, lied about what I've said, you choose single instances where I won't budge rather than point to all the many many ways in which I have compromised. Now you tell me I have flaws that have hindered our efforts yet I get hundreds of letters of thanks from so many nice people. You use words like "Anointed one" to try and characterize me as self aggrandizing and self righteous. All of these things are attacks and I've never done a thing to you.

You attack me here then say I get to respond in a PM only? I really don't know what is wrong with you. I don't care. My messages here aren't really to you. They are to everyone else here- I don't want the division you are trying to create. That's all I'm saying and I really honestly wish you would just stop it.

This is a group effort. It has been from the start, yet you seem so intent on carving off your own piece of it. Why not just be in the group?

Fine. You win. Fuck my principals, you got your redirection. I don't have the energy for this.

Again, guilt as a psychological form of force. This discussion between you and I has been a long time coming. Don't pretend it's all about this one thread. You've been bashing me for no reason for quite a while now.

Maybe now you can just pitch into the ongoing effort. I can't understand why you feel such a sense of loss.. it's like you don't even see what we are accomplishing as a group. You only seem to see what your site does or doesn't do.

The situation is what it is, the energy has a direction. It is our job to ride the wave and to shape it's course until we hit our target. Bring your water into the wave and become a part of it. That's all I'm saying.

Yes, that's exactly what it is. The whole world is out to get you.

I suppose that the fact the domain redirects now is simply a smokescreen.... for... something....

You have your redirection. Do you want something else?

. it's like you don't even see what we are accomplishing as a group. You only seem to see what your site does or doesn't do.

I made the website FOR a group: OregoniansForRonPaul.com, and branched it from there. I believe I already stated that. If I didn't believe in what we do as a group, I never would have redirected the first site. I haven't been attacking you in the slightest. I have been offering criticism, a right that I do not forfeit simply because at some point I ran a website that performed the same tasks.

The only thing that I feel a personal sense of loss about is that I spent $30 on domains that I could have ended up donating to the campaign instead.
