Let's learn from what has worked and what hasn't.

The blimp is fun but TV ADS WORK!

We need to just suck it up and do what works. Florida is NOT over. We can do very well let's just get the job done!

Is there even a Ron Paul campaign in Florida other than meetups and volunteers?

Florida is mostly volunteer run, but there are coordinators getting us supplies and things we need. We could not possibly get the effort we want to put out there without them. Hopefully they step it up a bit over the next few days of course, but we aren't really wanting for slims and signs too badly at least.

There are radio ads on as well.

It is about the delegates. Unfortunately, it is a winner take all state. I understand the principle of perception, but if I had a million bucks to spend in advertising I would choose a spot where we could pick up delegates. I do think the grassroots is critical to giving us a respectable showing down there.

we have some phonebanking and literature offices here in FL but IMO not a lot of reason to dump millions into TV because we won't get 1st here.

The grassroots in Florida needs to keep trying but the campaign really shouldn't put a lot of resources into Florida. It's just not worth it.

Tough call. Right now only 13 percentage points separate Ron Paul from the leader in Florida. The top four candidates are bunched up at the high teens right now. However, there is 11% undecided and some of Thompson's supporters look ripe for the picking.

TV ads do NOT work. People use TiVo and DVRs to skip commercials. Why waste tens of thousands on a 30 second spot that noone will watch?

Direct mail and local newspaper ads are significantly more effective.

They seemed to work in NV. I don't have TiVo, etc, and plenty of people don't. Especially the 60+ age group that really goes out and votes.

Direct mail and newspaper ads are great though.

that is absolutely not true

respectly i know you want to do newspaper ads. Which you should

But the old dont play with tivo?

In fact not everyone even uses it. The latest polls in nevada showed 50% of the people were effected and made up their decision based on the TV ads.

I dont want to misdo your plan here but the facts dont support it.

As far as most voters are concerned, if they don't see a candidate on TV, they assume that candidate has no chance of winning. Since the MSM isn't covering Paul, the only alternative is to run TV ads.

However, instead of running them in Florida, I would run them nationally, which will also hit all the Super Tuesday states. National ads cost much less per thousand viewers than local ones.

I've seen speculation that Fred may drop out. He's in his home state of TN right now, visiting his ailing 90 year old mother. That's what that box thingy told me, anyway.

NO WE DON'T need TV ads... the CAMPAIGN STAFF & MANAGEMENT need to get off their BUTTS, hire professionals and Competent CAMPAIGN MANAGEMENT and institute Campaign Strategies and Communications that WORK!

You are thinking from the point of view of 2% of the population. Yes, statistically, only 2% of the population DVRs shows and skips commercials. And those are the more tech savvy people who already know about Ron Paul.
