Mandy,
I know you're intent on going to New Hampshire, but I wanted to mention something to you before you leave. Most likely; Ron Paul supporters and others who are looking for freedom of government are going to wait to see what happens at the elections. We never know what will happen for sure and perhaps many of us are hopeful that something will come up. If a desired result does not come about, it seems like there will be a move with momentum to get freedom from this government we live under.
I wish I could say to you that I believe we can just "deal" with whoever we get in for president and campaign hard for a constitutional candidate in 2012. Unfortunately, from my sense, I think 2008 could be our last year to restore freedom. Ron Paul has not generally done well in the polls, but I believe he really gave the establishment a hard hit because of coming out of no where. I believe the elections are rigged and, as I think most of us know, the media is also rigged.
With a constitutionally sound candidate it should seem like a no-brainer that Ron Paul would be our president, but the establishment has a lot of influence and Ron Paul was left in the dust. However, with the record-breaking money bomb, strong grassroot support, general interest in the cause of liberty and limited media attention he did get a lot of people were educated about things the establishment doesn't want you to know about.
I'm not trying to preach to the choir, but I think the amount of momentum we were able to build and the effectiveness we made with the whole establishment coming against us; that they will not want to give us another chance in 2012 and will probably pull some kind of dictarorship or really make sure things are rigged even better. Because of this, I consider that We The People really only have two options if we want to be free:
1. We have to secede from the United States of America (via Maine, Alaska, etc.)
2. There has to be another revolution
With all that said, I think after the elections you will either see a push to move forward, or maybe the move will totally die. What I want you to consider is whether you would rather follow the approach of the FSP and still be under our government, or whether you are willing to wait until after the election and see where the flow of people flock to.
I just believe this movement for secession is a real sentiment among people, and believe once other people in our country hear about it that they will also be very intrigued. About a hundred million people voted in the general election in 2000 and a little over that number in 2004. With this being the case, a conservative estimate is that 50,000,000 or more people in this country are not involved in voting.
I would guess that a real move for secession would have over a million people flock to one state and likely with the majority not even having voted for Ron Paul. Did you meet any people who didn't want to hear about Ron Paul because they were distrustful of the voting process or thought he had no chance? I've heard another person warn me not to get hyped because of what happened with Ross Perot and that it was a lost cause. Unless you are content with going to another state and being under the federal government, I would strongly suggest that you sit on the sidelines through this election and see what movement comes along - I would hate to see you move to New Hampshire to have a movement form somewhere else and have to move again for a secession.
