We need our own state.

Def NH. Print out the 101 reasons and you'll understand. And island? No way. I don't care to be a sitting duck in the middle of the ocean and if my kids get sick I want to be able to get them meds, decent care, etc.

I was just reading about the FSP's effect on the NH primary. Interesting read for those who think NH isn't "right" because of the primary results.

The island idea has the best chance of success as far as starting our own community and living in peace. That would be followed most closely by a border county(ies) idea. They may not attack to keep a county like they would to keep a state.

Why are we talking big dollars per acre though, when I have already shown you cheaper island properties?

I can't imagine feeling safe on an island. Even if it's right off shore. I'm all for you guys getting one...I wouldn't, though. If it's near NH I'll come visit. :) Imo you get what you pay for and for that price I would think someone with a bit of moulah would have already bought it if it was so great. ;) Islands sound "fun", but they are not conducive to raising a family when you have to deal w/building an infrastructure as well. Maybe if I were 20, single, w/no children I'd be more on board but I'm 33, married, with 3 children. An island is simply out of the question.

Mandy,

We get an association formed. We collect the funds and put them into a trust until we are ready to buy the island. We coordinate the construction of the homes as one large purchase and get a great savings that way. We set aside money for a school with a gymn that doubles as our town hall. We have a clinic and hopefully staff it with doctors and nurses who will join the movement.

I know it sounds like a lot to do, and it is. But the pioneers who settled the west did 100 times more.

We might even find an island that has some existing building(s) that could easily be converted to the common usages described above.

Personally, I have a teaching degree in history and English but can't teach the truth in socialist America. In fact, I can no longer get a job because my views are well known. I am so sick of feeling like an outcast merely for supporting the Constitution!

Now we are already in trouble. State sponsored schools?
In my neck of the woods that's the biggest single financial drain on the citizens.

Thomas Jefferson said every child should be taught reading, writing and basic arithmetic anything greater is wasted on most people.

I agree. Those who have the ability/desire to homeschool would do so. Those who want to use the "Community School" would do that. It would be a tuition school, I would think. Not a "State-sponsored" school.

I am a strong believer in classical education, starting with the trivium.

No disrespect to the FSP folks in NH, but even if they get their 20,000 some day, how will that make much of an impact on a state with well over a million people, and with more than 20,000 socialists a year moving up from Mass?

Right.. and this apparent miscalculation sowed the seeds for their likely failure in NH. True, the FSP is having a positive impact in NH, but the onslaught of socialists fleeing nearby states is negating the project's success. As far as NH is concerned, they will likely succeed in restoring liberty only if they secede from the union to prevent an uncontrolled migration of socialists into the state. This same process applies to any state including Montana which is where I'm making my final stand for liberty.

OK...now I see it is Fremont Island...but still, can you answer the questions above?

Looks like about 5-6 square miles...
