We MUST get this ad to the campaign. AWESOME.

Isn't it violating some asinine law for Paul to accept an advertisement for free from a supporter? Campaign finance and all that?

Yes. They can't accept it per FEC rules. I don't know if they could buy it.

Don't email the campaign and tell them to run it. Others already have.

Love the ad. Moby music would be great... how about the piano riff from 'Honey'?

Don't ...

Don't email bomb the campaign about the ad you're mentioning. We have a competition going on right now and the guy who created that ad is participating.

I've already gotten agreement from people in the campaign that they will review the final results.

We need Don LaFontaine to do the voice over for this ad. His services run 100,000 bucks but would be worth it. People recognize his voice before their own mother's. "

I don't think 100,000 bucks is worth spending on his voice. His voice reminds me of everything corporate... not grassroots in the slightest.

My 2 cents is this ad does not need a voice over. I think it would actually detract.

how come the ad is not in you competition playlist ?

i'd say skip it, this ad better airs today than tomorrow ;)

Coupla' thoughts/opinions. CCR version completely dominates the Limp Bizkit-esque version. Way too "90's" sounding. The CCR tune really makes you feel positive about the whole thing, whereas the darker "funky" industrial version feels like a preview for a bad movie, or a video featuring white dudez in ridiculous clothing getting all "serious" and whatnot. Just my take on it. We need to come off positive, all the time, not dark and intimidating. This sh*t needs to feel like the party that it really is! Liberty is good times. :D

Two, John Fogerty might not even have the rights to this tune, in all likelihood, either a lawyer for the band has the rights, or the record label owns the rights, or perhaps some strange combination of the two. Look up the track on the back of a soundtrack cd it's on - hmm,... Forest Gump or something? Anyway, it should list on there who licensed the song for use. They'd be the folks to contact, not Fogerty.

Yes, this commercial rules and should be aimed at the 30 - 65 crowd. Start that chip in!

The CCR version is definitely best -- appeals to a wide demographic. He'll have to edit it to make room for the obligatory "I'm Ron Paul and I approve this message", though. Maybe just a quick voiceover at the end.

someone probably already brought this up, but do we have the rights to that song? Other than that - the ad RULES! Fantastic job!

cool... looks like everything's in order, we'll be seeing some home-made ads soon :)

I've edited video for TV stations and big conventions and I think the newest version with Linking Park music is by far the best:

The build-up is perfect. It would be best if Frank Dogg could re-render the video to sync it on this music.

This is the best ad ever, but have you read this thread from the beginning? We need a person skilled in copyright law and negotiation, to contact Fantasy Records and negotiate a price for the kick-ass CCR song. Let's do it, but we need to get a costing, and then decide.
