We MUST get this ad to the campaign. AWESOME.

id think we should do less promoting of John fogerty and mention Ron Pauls name a time or 2.

Or, we could ask Fogerty to endorse him? Most throw-back rock n rollers love Ron Paul. Myself included :p

Ron Paul should advertise on hard rock radio stations. Old timers like myself still listen to the music from our generation.

Awesome ad! You guys are so talented.

Can the grassroots put this on tv? Or is that not legal?

Funny, if that were the superbowl ad, my superbowl party would erupt with YES YES YES!!!! All around! We would all be going nucking futs! I'd literally run around my neighborhood with joyful glee if it were to happen! :)

I think it's funny how everyone takes that song and uses it in patriotic ways....

lets look at the lyrics though ...

... They always cut out the "It ain't me" part.

It is patriotic because he's saying in the lyrics he wasn't born with a silver spoon up his ass with connections and could therefore avoid serving in Vietnam. The poor people without connections have to.

It ain't me, it ain't me
I ain't no military son
It ain't me, it ain't me
I ain't no fortunate one

he also says I'm not no senator's son

He's saying he's not fortunate like them to be able to avoid fighting in Vietnam.

Exactly. When I sent this clip to a friend, they brought up the same apparent contradiction in lyrics. My response was that since Dr. Paul is an anti-war candidate and not an establishment politician, the meaning of the song as a whole fits quite well. It's for that reason that I've long held out hope that someone would secure a license to use the song and actually get this ad on air.
