This is the best thing we could take away from this election. If we get poised on local levels we could make it happen. Four more years of Obama and even a significant number of Democrats will be swinging to an alternative.

No we don't...

The Republican Party is never going to accept Ron Paul, Rand Paul, or anyone like them. My prediction is that they won't learn anything in the next for years and they still won't care about us.

then they fall apart. We are the future.

That very well may be true but if you look at the numbers. Things are looking up for the rEVOLution. If the first primary stays in Iowa, Dr. Paul did VERY well there and we now own the Republican Party there. Dr. Paul also got 2nd in New Hampshire as well. I expect our numbers to GROW in the next 4 years bringing in not just more Republicans but independents and of course our beloved Blue Republicans. The future looks bright for our little rEVOLution.

I am seeing Rand Paul 2016 popping up EVERYWHERE... even where least expected. Conservative radio pundits. Old work friends who ignored politics.

Many folks are having a major case of Romney-Regret right now. They honestly expected Romney to win because they were told he was the only electable one. Now they're like: Wait... what?? Was it someone else?!? Rand?!?

Strike while the iron is hot!! Let's build the momentum to make up that 4% and win Iowa.

2016 starts now!

Okay am I the only person who realizes we need to do more than hope the GOP is going to let us pass through a candidate they want? Am I fucking blind or something? They fucking STOLE the election from Paul. I'm not waiting until i'm 60 years old and all the old GOP people croaked.

Yes, they cheated. But even with all the cheating, rule-breaking, intimidation, media control, printing money, and throwing delegates out, we still got 190 delegates despite their best efforts. We also came within 4% of winning the popular vote in Iowa. Rand WILL win the popular primary votes in several states.

When you build a big enough tidal wave - or "Randslide," like we did in Kentucky - they simply can't keep up with it enough to cheat their way out of it. And we ran against the guy in charge of elections in the state, too... lol. :)

As depressing as these election results have been, I'm not ready to give up. When the sting subsides and everyone's scepticism has passed, our optimism will prevail. I know there will be enough people on board with this movement next time around that the tides will turn. Look at how far we have come. Seriously.

The Republican base is already ready to accept Rand Paul, in general. He's not their first choice, but they like him. It's the establishment insiders we have to worry about...but the whole point of taking over the GOP is to take over the state parties and the RNC to oust and replace those gremlins. We can take over the party that way with activists alone, because we have far more people willing to give up a night a month or so to go to meetings than they do...but we have our work cut out for us. If we succeed, we will not only have an infrastructure for taking Congress, but we can also push Rand Paul far enough for the Republican base to take him the rest of the way...as the establishment kicks and screams helplessly.

Of course the establishment isn't going to "let" us. If the current RNC members still run the RNC in 2016, we don't have much more than a prayer. That's why we need enough people to set aside their qualms to get involved and throw the party officials out on their asses within, say...three years. This should have been our number one priority starting four years ago, but we dropped the ball. Here's to the next few years being more productive.

I'm pumped!

How can we win the Tea Party vote over a guy like Rubio? Because the Tea Party is already Romney-bashing and taking an anti-moderate stance.

Owning the Republican party of Iowa is, I think, a bigger advantage than we realize. It will suck hearing all the bullshit about Christie and Rubio for 3 years before showtime, but I guess we should be used to it. RAND PAUL 2016!!!!!

Rand could take office in 2017... the 10 year anniversary of the r{EVOL}ution from 2007.

I'm really torn on this point, on the one hand, we need some kind of alliance with the broader majority of conservatives or we will never get the right people elected. On the other hand, I'm sick of idiots like McConnell or Boehner running the party.

If certain Republican members of the senate and house could be convinced to join a new 'conservative' party but still caucus with Republicans, eventually the conservatives would overtake the Republicans and a new party could be formed, with new leadership. That is what is needed imo, people like Boehner, Lindsey Graham, McConnell, and other neo cons should be the followers in the party, not the leaders.

I disagree with jnz. Yes, many are mad that Benton is going to help McConnell get re-elected in 2014. But look at what he's gained. A position within the establishment and he didn't even trade anything. Will surely see Rand helping Davis go after Lindsey.
