We can win Louisiana, it's our next shot

I'm one of only 110 Ron Paul precinct leaders signed up in the entire state of Louisiana. There are over 150 precincts in my parish (county) alone.

If Ron Paul has any chance to get above 10% in this state, his supporters need to get off their butts and sign on as precinct leaders, like RIGHT NOW, and start canvassing their neighborhoods. It is the ONLY way we can do this.

ok so is there anything that not close to that state people can do to help

Unfortunately I don't think he'll do well in LA. People get turned off when they hear "He voted against sending federal money to help Katrina victims" but they fail to realize it's because he believes the states would be better dealing with the problem. Hell, if they agreed bordering states could team up and when a disaster happens they all team up to help. FEMA and local authorities were ordered to stop other groups from helping. But unforuntately people fail to realize this.

We do well in Closed Caucuses, sadly they opened up Nevada a day before, Lousiana is a closed caucus and where Ron Paul will be headed next, let's go for the throat

We can probably do well in obtaining delegates, if that, but expect a Huckster victory in LA.

I'm pretty sure we have a bunch of delegates. All our colleges are teeming with Ron Paul supporters, and I've been trying to inform my church(1000 people) about Ron Paul. I think the biggest challenge is wishy-washiness among Christians. My stepdad(a children's pastor, no less), decided to support Huckabee instead of Ron Paul because he was "a baptist minister 15 years ago and he's said some great stuff." When questioned about what this stuff was, he couldn't say anything specific, but then mentioned the flat tax, which I was able to refute easily. That night he touted Huckabee's victory.

The next sunday he wasn't sure about who to support anymore.

I clicked on the huck's forum link... Dude their main logo is 3 crosses on top of 2 "stars of david" on top of a cresent star of david with a line through it. How can ANYONE vote for this man? I simply do not get it.. This is SAD and it really does SCARE me to death that a bigot like him might be the next president of the US?

As Ron Paul would say... "WHATS GOING ON HERE???"

We've got it covered. We have several things going for us:

1) We have been working as a team for several months now.

2) We have an excellent working relationship with the national campaign

3) Ron Paul is the only candidate with a full delegate slate in every district: we ambushed them... they totally weren't expecting it!

4) I have been personally contacted by Romney and McCain reps. asking if I am uncommitted and to see if I am uncommitted, would I consider joining their slate.

5) In my district, there *should* be 90 delegate candidates if every campaign had a full slate and instead there are 51 delegate candidates. RP has 15 of those (a full slate).

Newspaper ads are exceptionally expensive here because of the rural factor... the circulation is 40K on the weekends and is 3,800 a full page for a Saturday.

Only registered republicans as of 11/30/08 can participate.

THis should make you happy

RP is big in LA, Huckabee might now have the cakewalk people think if Ron does some serious advertising there. People in LA like to be left alone and RP is perfect for them.

If they want to be left alone, why would they vote for someone like Huck... boggles the mind:confused:

Huckabee will probably win in LA, but I see a showing in the top 3 for Dr. Paul. I think Romney will be left sucking eggs in the deep south. Besides, after Katrina, people there will be LOATHING the government, which is good for Dr. Paul.

Huckabee doesn't have a full slate of delegates. I expect our biggest competition will be Romney and McCain.

Ron Paul voted against giving money to FEMA. FEMA is an enemy in the eyes of Katrina and Rita victims. They will support anyone who says "abolish FEMA".

And I REPEAT: I don't think Huckabee will do well at all. I could be wrong, but that is my feeling.

Not necessarily. You're talking about the primary when you say 10%. This election cycle, the primary is NOT where we are going to get any delegates because no one is going to get 50% + 1 of the vote.

ALL of the delegates up for grabs are going to come through the caucus on Tuesday. RP can pick up *41* (ah, 41. just think about that)... through the delegates (21 from the districts and then 20 more "at large" voted on by the deleagates at the state convention).

Our biggest success through the caucus is going to come from turning out the vote through the donor lists. And we have been working that hard....

great to here and if you have any suggestions of what works let us know after Tuesday

RP was against federal aid to Katrina "victims". I was, too, but that's probably not gonna be real helpful in that state.

You might be surprised. I'm in the Katrina area of Louisiana and a lot of people are now aware at how lousy the federal govt is at handling local emergencies. FEMA's response has been pitiful. Ron Paul has a good chunk of support here.

What are You serious people in Louisiana are fed up with Katrina. We know the facts behind the big sham and we did read the New Orleans news paper on ocassion. The people left behind or alot of the were just plain trash and i'll say it again they were trash. All we hear on the news is another 3 people killed in new orleans today from drug related murder. That crap went on every day for years because it was a welfare poverty city. When the refugees fled the gun stores in Lafayette sold more guns in one week than they sold the previous year. You might ask why because we knew how those people were. So I don't think that will hurt him that much because most people in this state consider New Orleans a boil on the arse of Louisiana. I am sorry if I offend anyone but this is my opinion and I guess I am entitled to it. Oh the thing about the guns is true. Oh also I didn't have grafeeti and crap like that around my neighborhood till after NO came to town.

Oh did I fail to mention the FEMA camp still outside of Cameron. The people had nothing I mean nothing and the government has gave them a totaly free ride for well over two years and they are still not on their feet. You know Louisiana has alot of good paying jobs that can't find people. I work in a industry if You atleast have an 8th grade education You can make a 100k a year if You work hard so I am sorry if I don't feel sorry for them at all. In Houston they had to be given an extension after two years.... Common You mean after 2 years rent free food stamps You still can't get an apartment. I have to admit I did better than that as a teenager working at wendies.
