"I think that the PATRIOT Act is about 90 percent right on. I can't delineate to you exactly what I would want to change, but here again I would rather error on the side of caution and protection, rather than worry about that ten percent that I might have a problem with. Perfect legislation doesn't exist. But I'm happy with legislation that's 90 percent right on especially if it's going to protect the people".

Don't know if this has been brought up or not, but it should at least be regularly talked about. I'm not sure if the Tea-O-Cons would be happy to hear this.

Nope. This might be useful in the General, but I don't think it will help in the Republican primary.

It will hurt with some of the tea party but only half of it is strongly motivated by civil liberties, more's the pity. The TSA is a better demon for the GOP.

If Ron singles him out on how he is completely okay with American citizens being spied on, I think it can bring him down.

Cain will evaporate anyway. Those folks just need a new place to go. Once someone opens that door, they will leave in droves.

There's no need to "destroy" anyone.

Again, not too many Republican voters are going to care about this issue since a lot of them are under the "if you have nothing to hide, what's the big deal?" mindset. If you want to go after Cain, attack him for his support of TARP and inability to predict the housing bubble.

gop foreign policy supports sharia law and the gop helped overthrow us backed countries to become exactly that!!!!

The vast majority of Republicans and the vast majority of Democrats support almost all of the Patriot Act. Bringing this up could only help Cain.

The last poll regarding the Patriot Act that I saw showed that 56% of Republicans supported it, while only 21% opposed it. So that's not going to be an unpopular stance whatsoever in the Republican primary.

The TSA is more controversial to most voters than the Patriot Act, because they can actually see an affect from the TSA in their daily lives. (If they travel.) I'm opposed to the Patriot Act in it's current form because of 4th amendment and 1st amendment issues, but I can't see that it's affected my personal life in any way. I think most voters are probably the same way.
