We are in serious trouble as a country.

I just spent the last two hours engaging Trump supporters in various forums, comment sections, and online venues.

If you thought the Trump supporters were bad here on RPF, you are sorely mistaken.

They are ignorant. They don't care about constitutional principles. And they are MEAN. I mean viciously horribly dark and mean.

I no longer have a horse in this race and I'm not advocating for anyone and I made that clear to everyone I engaged with.

I was attacked with low information insults from the start. They went after my wife, my kids, my military service, you name it... This is literally an uprising of the ignorant angry masses. They wouldn't hesitate to round up anyone who disagrees with them and imprison them or even kill them. Heck Trump himself has advocated internment camps...

Trump or Hillary.... this does not end well.

Edit: I was also very polite and courteous. I was simply debating Trumps policy positions and advocating liberty principles.

Trump represents a modern-day Spartacus and I'm not one to criticize those followers who lack style points. I will however point them in the right direction. :)

I remember a thread from klamath describing this as Trump's "command climate".

We were already in serious trouble as a country before Trump ever arrived on the scene. The level of anger you see didn't come from nowhere, it built up very slowly over a long period of time.

Could have been the liberty movement benefiting from this popular sentiment, but too many in our ranks were just too special and too important to get their hands dirty interacting with the great unwashed.

Wow, Spartacus. Why not just go for Moses? Or the Savior himself?

More like a cross between Francis Buxton and Blake from Glengarry Glen Ross.

It's not time yet. But sooner than I originally thought, I fear.

The hate zombies are on the right and the left. Saw this in Ferguson and the Confederate flag fiasco with the latter.

The American psyche is weak and defeated. It's a reflex to try to project meanness and anger to compensate.

Real strength, represented by people like Ron, isn't even recognized as such in this culture.

EDIT: I wouldn't even say this is unique to America. But it's most noticeable here, and seems further progresssed to me.

Well said.. I just hope it doesn't spill into full blown civil war at this point. We are one crisis away from Armageddon... literally

Human nature got us in this mess to begin with, but it may end up leading us out of the darkness.

What's interesting is that I've noticed the same type of stuff from the Bernie supporters. It's amazing how similar the supporters of both Trump and Sanders are to each other.

There's that f a g talk again...

(Oh for Jebus's sake... "f a g" is forbidden???")

Typical conversation with Trump supporters online:

Me: Trump is actually just as bad as the Democrats and the GOP Establishment (lists many issues where Trump flip-flopped or advocates big government solutions that wouldn't be popular with most Republicans).

Trump Supporter 1: He's Shaking things up! He's taking on the establishment!

Trump Supporter 2: He's not perfect, but Ted Cruz is a Canadian! Therefore vote Trump!

Trump Supporter 3: You are a cuckservative! Look at me, I know a naughty word!

Trump Supporter 4: (Insert name of terrible establishment figure) is against Trump! Therefore vote Trump!

Trump Supporter 5: His positions don't matter, the only thing that matters is that he is taking on the establishment!

Trump Supporter 6: Conservatism and Libertarianism are dead! Nationalist Populism is the way of the future!

Trump Supporter 7: The people are sick and tired of being lied to by politicians!

Trump Supporter 8: The people love Trump!

Me: None of those are valid reasons to vote for Trump.

Trump Supporter 2: Ted Cruz is ineligible to run for President! Vote Trump!

Trump Supporter 5: We aren't going to let the media determine who we vote for!

Trump Supporter 7: Trump is going to make America great again!

Trump supporter 3: Cuck! Cuck! Cuck! I like saying this word!

And then they all walk into the voting booth, knowing nothing about the Congressional, state, and local races. And many of them vote for establishment pieces of garbage because they are the only names they recognize.
