People either said I was crazy or they ignored me. But I posted the winning strategy months ago. Nothing was done and now we are marching zombie-like towards an inevitable loss.

Please look at my thread again. Add comments. Get the info to the campaign now!

We have the money. If we spend it on these types of ads we can win. If we keep doing what we've been doing so far we will lose.

People aren't getting all of these subtle points. We need to hit them over the head with a reality hammer. Maybe the guys running the campaign could use a hit or two as well.

I hate to see us lose without even putting up a decent fight.

And we need to tie the war to our economy because now people are worried about it...

We have no chance in Florida. Time and money is better spent elsewhere.

hopefully the folks at HQ know what they're doing, as for the rest of us, lets stick to spreading the message grassroots style, i.e. getting things done by ourselves :-)

3 million people in FL over the age of 65. 1.5 million migrated from NY. Winner take all in FL.
It's a waste to be there. This is a revolution we tend to sneak in the back door and take em out when they aint looking. Ghoul gonna lose and drop. Huck gonna take 3rd or 4th and be dead in the water. The plan is coming together faster then expected.

I disagre. It's all about momentum. Just look at how Rudy911's campaign has fluttered because of their wait and hope campaign.

The better we do in a state like Florida, the more momentum we build for Super Tue.

Is there anywhere you envision us winning with the current campaign strategy?

I should have clarified. We have no chance at picking up delegates in Florida since it's a winner take all state. The campaign's time and money would be better spent on states where we can actually pick up delegates. Now the grassroots should continue to do what they are doing and spread the message in Florida.

People care about a lot of things.. the war? Of course. Illegal immigration? Naturally. The economy? Yes but who can understand it? Even the most sophisticated can only argue theories.

There is ONE issue the vast majority will ALWAYS care about no matter what. Social Security. That is their money in their mailbox. It literally keeps them from dying. Millions upon millions of people need it as much as they need their next breath.

The OP is correct we will likely lose if we keep on marching like zombies to a tuneless minstrel known as HQ.

Social Security IS the one single winning issue. If we use Social Security as the SPEARHEAD of every conversation we can and WILL WIN.

"My name is Ron Paul and I am the champion of Social Security" Ron needs to sit in front of the camera and look right into it and tell people in two minutes what they all need to hear from him in order to vote for him. Or.. we can pat ourselves on the back for trying so hard and for "getting the truth out to so many"

Depends

Bah. Everybody says they're the champion of social security. We can prove it, but not in a sound bite that'll convince people.

The message has to vary by state (tho not the platform, of course).

In Louisiana we lost to a bunch of pro-lifers who thought Ron Paul was pro-choice.

We need to hit people's critical issues, in a way that differentiates us from the rest.

In Panama City (NW Florida - Panhandle - Conservative area), we are doing a last minute media event, open to the public. ANYONE in or near the Florida Panhandle MUST COME, this Sunday (unless you are canvassing door to door that day!).

It's a Ron Paul Cookout on the Bay (formerly called the Ron Paul Barbeque).

See this thread for more info on what we are up to here:

Hate to say it but I don't think I see any wins with this strategy. Can't win if nobody know who you are. Just a few well placed commercials would have helped.
To voters a candidate without commercials is like a company without a website.
Florida is just too big to have any impact without them.
I think this is a missed opportunity. A second or third place finish in Florida would give Paul momentum going into Super Tuesday.

Uh...

Ron did place ads - all over talk radio for weeks before anyone else did. AM 580WDBO was running them in force. I heard them repeatedly played during Sean Hannity's show :)

But the sad fact is that advertising is VERY expensive and the grassroots has short-changed Ron in donations. With more than half the states to go, the campaign has to be very careful about where they spend what money they have left.

Competing in a winner-take-all, die-hard GOP, pro-war state like Florida against Romney (who is literally buying Florida), Rudy (who is going crazy down here) and McCain is not a smart strategy. ONLY first place will get the delegates and like it or not, Ron won't get first place in Florida (especially when my RP signs keep getting destroyed by people).

This is an easy ad. Show the pictures of horrific violence and children in Iraq with RP speaking in the background about how we should not be there nor in any pre-emptive war. Then have him say ..JUST come home..and show 10 sec of the kid and the dad. Then his pic with the line that guy said in the other thread. hat is a super superbowl 30 sec ad..simple to produce..someone go for it. I really liked that guy's comments of the talk behind the pics in the other thread..

I strongly disagree with evoking emotion responses with depressing or gruesome pictures of war.

You could still be crazy and right, you know. ;)

More seriously, please look at the polls, especially those that list the cross tabs and find out what works in each state or area. Tailor messages according to local preferences.

This has ALWAYS been a problem with RP Campaign Staff/Strategies.

I SWEAR... the rest of the PANDERING PLAGIARISTIC GOP HACKS are on this board taking all the great ideas and STRATEGIES we have all submitted on this FORUM.

SUCKS when you see other Campaigns change strategies, become effective, gain SUBSTANTIAL SUPPORT, GAIN votes, Media, & most importantly WIN PRIMARIES & the follow-on DONATIONS... and the RP strategies has been the TORTOISE & HARE STRATEGY... just chugg along at 50 heart beats a minute.

Well it appears to be that temperament to me... and I've done this SH*T before!

RP HQ now HAS to make BIG changes to BIG things in a BIG hurry.
Controversial and BEYOND brilliant TV ads are now the only hope. Other than that, it's done.
This campaign from HQ has had such a low quality of PR and Marketing genius that it's been sickening to watch.
This is AMERICA, not Afghanistan. AMERICA runs on sex appeal and sound bites.
We have ZERO of either.
